RaiN wHeN wILL u Go AwAy

Another rainy day...

Got off work a little later yday coz the rain was wrecking havoc outside since 5pm... *Shiver* I was worried my fragile brolly will not be able to withstand the strong winds and slapping rain and turn inside out (aka a similiar incident during a town braving rain a couple of mths ago) and decided to chill in the office till the rain ceases a little.

BUT the sky was relentless... The rain continued to pour like no one's business and I threw caution to the wind and rain and stepped out of my office to face it head on (with the brolly over my head of course) :p

The rain was gushing but thankfully the wind wasn't that bad. I managed to survive the walk to the nearest train station without having to grip on tightly to my brolly for dear life and to prevent it from flying up and away into the grey skies.

Gosh...Was drenched knee down and many of the roads were flooded with muddy water (curse the construction that was going on). Had no choice but to sink my feet into the yucky water to get to dry ground. Yikes!

And guess what, after getting soaking wet from running in the rain after lunch yday, got knee wrecked after work, I woke up to another heavy rain day this morning. It sucks!

Although I only got my elbows littered with rain drops but facing rain on 3 occasions isn't very cheery happy for me... Arrghhh...such nice cool temp to sleep but instead...

Heavy rain...

Went over to PS for lunch and guess what... Returned to office resembling a wet duck...

Got caught in an extremely heavy rain without an umbrella and both my colleague and I were running, screaming in the rain... Gosh, I felt as if I was caught on the set of a natural disaster movie...

Everyone (without brollys of course) were running, holding down skirts, screaming in anguish at the rain and cursing... Funny even though I was soaking wet (thank god am not decked in white) :p

Drying in the office with a cuppa hot water... Brrr....cold

ExCrUCiATiNg WaIt

Was off work at 6pm yesterday...

Made my way to the mrt in under 5 mins and was happily toying with the idea of getting ample time to rest at home before I go out again at 7pm but alas it was not meant to be...

The train due to some technical delays earlier on (din specify the time) was delayed by double the usual time. When the first train arrived, it was jam packed to the door and I could not even step a foot in...

The next train arrived 6 mins later (usually it only takes 2-3mins) and boy, those were extremely looong 6 mins to me... By then it was already 620pm. I would haf by pass toa payoh at that timing~!

Managed to squeeze and squirm into the train and had a very uncomfy ride back to AMK. Sickening... It was alreadt 645pm when I reach AMK and my r&r dreams went up into smoke...

Hate it when trains are down... Shit.... especially when you are in a rush

Ate tons yesterday....

Was at Katong yesterday and ate till me and my beloved half wanna burst! We had the famous and very competitve Katong laksa for lunch and were slurping our bowls till the last drop as both of us were ultra hungry from skipping breakfast. Mouth still feeling itch, we popped over to another coffee shop down the street for tau kwa pau. Yummy and frankly were filled up to our throats le...

Decided to do some walking to burn of the calories we piled on and stopped by a pet shop. Saw the cutest schnauzer I ever seen in my life!!!!!!!!!! Two black ans white schnauzers the size of 2 of my palms in one of the window displays. They were super duper cute!!!!!!! So small!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If only they stayed at this size, I would have walked out of the shop with one of em... Irresistable haha...

There was a husky pup there too. Tink it was like 5 times the size of the schnauzer pups. Beautiful female husky, hope someone who knows how to take care of the breed brings it home :)

Went off the parkway parade to jalan jalan. The place is big and packed! We were searching for Crystal Jade Kitchen and after walking countless rounds and finally sought help from the customer service counter, we were directed to the place. Guess, our eyes stuck stamps coz it was just beside the watsons in pp and we had unkonwingly walked by it a few times! *Slaps head*

We had our dinner there close to 6pm and got a table before the dinner crowd descended. Had 3 main dishes and dessert. Extremely full and we felt we could not eat naother morsel. Recived a call from beloved's fren to meet up for durian feast in geylang. Although ballooned, we decided to go anyway... Haha... Greedy hor

Went down to Geylang around 8 plus and had like 5 -6 durians... Full till I realli realli wanna burst. The place as usual being the infamours red light district was littered with you-know-what. Had dessert to cool off before we all trooped off home.

Popped into bed at 1am and dozed off almost immediately, I was that tired... My beloved had to wake up at 5 plus this morning... He will be so darn tired... Gave him a wake-up call and hope he will be able to keep awake... Have a gd rest 2nite k :P

Think I will stay off durians and Crystal Jade Kitchen for awhile :p

It feels as if my frens are just beside me even thoguh they are like couple of MRT statons away :P

Everyone's looking (i think)...

Okay, the time of the month is approaching and hey presto, a offending and stubborn zit has appeared on the right side of my nose. Yuck! Big, red and tough! Applied tons of Oxy 10 cream on it for the past 3 days and left a pimple patch on it last night BUT its looks as big as ever still :(

Why!!??????????????????????

I hate pimples and unfortunately my time of the month symptoms includes zits. Shit shit shit!

ChILL aT j8

Meet up with huiting and sooying for dinner and our usual catch-up cum gossip session...

We were at Junction 8's Aijisen Ramen and were early so were able to snag a comfy sofa seat. Tried the spicy seafood ramen (comes with 2 medium size prawns, sotong, veg etc) instead of my usual fix of either ton toro or tomato ramen. A nice change but I do miss the sourish tomato ramen soup base :p

Had a really fun time yesterday night and both of them swing by my place to look at darling whisky. He was estatic to see them and was charging at them when they stepped in. *Shakes head* He loves humans to the extent where he will most likely welcome burglars too haha

Received lots of pets and coo-ing and just the day before my bf's friends were all over him too. Bet his little doggy heart was all fuzzy and happy. Whisky just loves company, the more the merrier!

Just a shout out to my close friends, it is always a great joy to meet up and luff the seconds, minutes and hours away with all of you! :)

SpRiTzE wIFF dAb

Are you a fragrant lover or phobic?

Floral, spicy, woody or fruity? I love fragrances that are fruity and light. Too heavy fragrances leave me giddy. On a typical day, I don't usually spritze on any fragrance but just a deo coz I am very afraid of the unpleasant mix of fragrance and perspiration at the end of day.

Only on rare and special occassion will I get down to my collection of fragrance and spritze away. No I do not use up half a bottle and you will not be able to smell me like 2 street away :p

I am always so bowled over by the countless varieties and brands of fragrances out there. OMG! Dunno which to spend my $$ on... *SCratch head* :P

Although I do not use fragrances on a daily (or frequent basis), I do like collecting them (esp the miniature ones) as the bottles are so darn pretty!!!!!!!!!!!

I love JPG's fragance bottles! The fluid and sexy bottles are soooooo hot!

Fragrances that I lurvee:

CK's summer (fresh burst of citrus!)
Escada's Magnetic and Sentiment (yummmy mango)
CK's Euphoria Blossom (sweet sweet sweet!)

Smell the coffee...

I am a coffee addict (there I 've confessed)... My addiction dates way back to my lower sec school days. Who got me on the kopi addict trail? They say blood is thicker than water and yes my mum was the one...

A coffee addict herself, she needs 2 cuppa a day and will start to feel sleepy and incur a headache if she tries to go cold turkey. Robust and flavourful wafts of coffee invades my nostrils since young and I was curious. Started on a cup on and off before it turned into a cuppa a day and now 2 cuppas a day.

Different from my mum, who stays wide awake once coffee lines her blood, I am pretty immune to the stay-awake-capability of coffee now. Give me a nescafe cuppa (other brands not sure though) before bed and I can still ease into dreamland...

I love going to the kopitiam, ya kun and kiliney for a cuppa and embrace the waft before taking the initial sip. Mmmmmmmmm....I feel like making a cup right now....

Coffee is my life and frankly I do not think I will ever wean myself off it. I luv coffee (piping hot) too much...

The only thing (so far) that will keep me awake for awhile? The new silver blue can of red bull (gushes: I luv it lots too~~~~~~~~)

mMmMmM...

Yoohoo... was too lazy and comp phobic to log on over the weekend to blog... Here's what went on over the-all-too-soon-gone weekend...

Went with my bf to Quality Hotel's taiwan porridge buffet (all you can eat) on friday after work. Boy, it was yummi. For around $11.40 you get to eat all you want til past midnight. There were chilli crabs (one round of it), braised tofu, duck, curry chicken, sotong, veggies, salted egg, preserved veggies, mutton, fried/steam yam cake, ma po tofu, ice kachang, ice cream, free flow of orange juice, hot barley soup and lots more. Ate till I wana burst.

We were pretty lucky, got a corner table which allows us to talk at ease. Oh, if you come in for the buffet after 11pm, you only need to pay S$6 plus nett per pax. Darn cheap.

Sat was extremely busy. Was up and about from woodlands to outram to attend CC events and a buddha ceremony with my bf. We then had peanut tang yuan at chinatown before dragging our tired bodies back home.

Sunday, I spent the good half of the day lazing at home before having tonic black chicken courtesy of mum for dinner. Totally thumbs up! Wiped my plate clean of every grain of rice and every delish drp of soup. Even my bf was all satisfied. We then went to the pasar malam and bought more food before going back to my place to catch the ND rally...Then 10pm descend upon us too soon and he left for home.

Getting sleepy and crawled into bed. Before I knew it, my alarm clock was ringing in my ears and mondays blues were singing in the air again...

AbAnDoNeD aNd LeFt To DiE

Another innocent life has been taken away...

Read in the papers recently of a 30 odd year old woman working at NTUC supermarket stuffed her dead child into the locker located at her work place. Police only discovered the highly decomposed corpse of the child after staff started complaining of the awful stench that was present in the workplace.

And the culprit is a married woman with kids. I wonder why did she not abort the child if she did not want it? Why allow the baby to be born and then allow it to die? That is sooo freaking cruel.

In recent times, there have been cases of underage teens or unwed mothers abandoning their new born babies (usually born out of the hospital) at trash boxes, forested areas and public toilets.

The poor newborn being robbed of proper health care dies within hours and if lucky is found by a passerby and gets adopted eventually.

It is sad to see such cases. Is it a fault of modern day liberalism or are teens taking sex too lightly? *confused* What are people thinking?

rOaD fReAk

I think I will never drive....

Am too chicken to be driving on the roads. With all the road rage and loud honkings plus my blurish personality, I think I will a pretty serious road/vehicle hazard. REALLY!

With the countless roads, road names, expressways blah blah, I am already feeling puky even when I am not place behind the wheel. GOD! How do drivers figure out all these roads, when to turn and all? I probably
follow the bus routes if I'm driving haha...

Kudos to those seasoned drivers. You guys are geniuses (well, at least to me). I freak out if I get honked by another driver coz I'll probably delibrating for hours on which roads to take and going back the same place over and over again (which means my petrol $ will hit the roof too).

I will I suppose ONE FINE DAY get down to getting my license but I tink I will never get practical on the roads (hmmm, passing the license maybe a prob too :p)... Besides, I prefer to sleep and chat while in the car instead of fully concentrating and have eyes locked on the roads (sooooooo tiring or maybe I am just plain lazy and not car-ambitious) haha...

Give me my roller blades, buses and MRT anytime! ^_^

pAsAr MaLaM eVoLuTiOn

Went to pasar malam near my place last night...

It was a total disappointment (many of the pasar malams in recent times have been less vibrant than those when TVs' were still screening in black and white). The pasar malam stretch was pathetic, I can walk through it in 5 minutes flat (am not joking).

The usual suspects were there too. Ranging from under the blks stalls selling baby clothes, batik night dresses, imitation bags, wallets, pirated CDs, fried chicken wings, fishballs, taiwan sausages, toufu, muah chee, tutu cake and of course the star of modern day pasar malam - ramlee burger.

I had tasted the 'famous' ramlee burger a couple of months back. Mine was a chicken patty topped with sauces and yummlicious cheese. Yum! But ever since had not tried another one. Tempted but having to fork out close to 5 bucks for a burger with cheese sorta hold my reins back.

My usual horde when I go to the pasar malam are food food and more food. Muah chee and taiwan sausage are a must! The rest of the stalls? I usually just whizz by... Nothing much to see and stop by at to tell the truth.

I still hang on to the times when I was younger (not too long ago - okay, who am I kidding?) where the pasar malams used to be much more colourful. My family members and I can spend up to an hour just browsing slowly by and going aaahhh and ohhhh at the stuff. Now it is just "hurry up buy and go home" mantra.

Besides pasar malam (used to) be known as a great bargain place where you can cheap cheap stuff but now it does not seem to be the case. I can get a batik dress for 6 dollars or less elsewhere besides getting it from the pasar malam.

Wish the good old pasar malam days can be revisited just like the retelecasted (far and way too many times) old dramas on local tv...

sWeAtY pALmS nO mOrE

I had been plagued by sweaty palms since I was in secondary school. Was it due to stress? To tell the truth I had no idea. When I was in primary school, my palms do not perspire so I was pretty worried and uncomfortable when sweaty palms striked me in my sec sch yrs and continued thereafter.

It was horrible. I was darn conscious of myself coz of the problem. Even in air-con conditions, my palms will sweat and the extent of it is pretty serious. You see beads of sweat and sometimes it gets pretty wet. Yuck!

I can't hold on to metal poles (or anything for the matter) without leaving imprints. And the worst thing is I am quite a lousy balancer so when I take the MRT I need to hold onto the bars/poles to keep me steady. To prevent obvious imprints, I will just use two of my fingers to gingerly hold on to the whatever is in sight. Terrible and of course, with such a thin support, I will be wavering and fearful I will fall flat when the train jerks.

In addition, school requires us to take notes etc and paper gets wet easily. Plus I love to read so my books will get stained. I hate it. I can't read in peace unless I am like in an ultra cold environment. I dare not shake hands! I was afraid people will be disgusted at my sweaty palms and often I just wave hi instead of offering to shake hands with people I just got introduced with.

It was in my early uni daes that I decided to go for treatments. I went to the polyclinic and was referred to NSC for a process where I will place my palms in electric current and a certain type of solution to soak for half an hour or so. The effects were supposed to last for a week dependent on individual. But for me, it didn't work well, after a day or two, the sweat will resurface.

To think, just merely thinking of my palms will cause them to sweat. !!!

By then, I had heard of a surgery to curb the problem permanently. I was eager to go for it but my mum was pretty apprehensive. But I insisted and it was another trip down to the polyclinic to get referred. The doc referred me to the Neuroscience clinic (beside TTSH) and I got to know my surgeon Dr Peter Hwang. Dr Hwang is a real friendly and nice doc. He calmed both my mum's and my fears and reassured us of the op.

He did mention some side-effects of the op such as diversion of sweat (but it was minimial) and a light scar (I can live with it since it is not inflicted obviously). Dr Hwang also told us of an op gone wrong where another doc performed a sweat gland cut off op for this man and the after the op the man's palms no longer perspired but the rest of his body did. It was an op gone wrong but Dr Hwang assured us that he will not let such a thing befall on his patients.

We set an appt with him and I was due to have the op performed in May 2004 (after my uni exams). It was 2 years ago but I can still remember the process of it. I was admitted into TTSH a day before my op in the late afternoon. Stayed in C-class and had my dinner there (the food was pretty yummy, maybe cause I was hungry :p).

The nurses were all friendly and I felt relaxed. My good old pri sch friend paid me a visit in the night and wished me all the best. After 8pm, I was not allowed to take in any food or fluids. Was wheeled into the op theatre the next morning around 7am. To tell the truth, I felt a little scared and wanted to cry but I told myself it is now or never.

On the op table, I was told to take in deep breaths as a mask was placed over my mouth and nose and before I could flutter my eye lids, I KO-ed. When I woke up (think like maybe 2 -3 hours later), I was wheeled back to my ward. My mum and bro were already waiting for me at my ward.

Had this thing stuck into my nostrils to help me to breathe. Could not even feel it in my nose. The needle stuck into my hand was darn painful and thick (felt it worse when the nurse had to pull it out) but it was to help me to get glucose from the bag attached to the stand beside my bed. So I got to tahan till I can eat.

Friends came to see me and bought me magazines, flowers and sweets. Was grateful for their visits, made me feel so lucky. Boy, when I went to the toilet, I saw for the first time the covered up wounds. It was bloody (made me think of those cellophane wrapped up fishes' blood you see in the supermarkets or wet markets. Yuck!). It hurt a little but my pain threshold is pretty high so it wasn't too bad.

The nites spent in the hopsital was not very comfy since I am pretty used to sleeping flat on my side but with an op just done I had no choice but to sleep straight on my back. Not the most comfy position if you asked me. Had probs falling asleep but I did doze off in the end. Was woken up in the night about twice by nurses who had to take the patient's blood pressure. It was a blur.

Had my cover off my wounds the next day and was allowed to eat soft food. I had no appetite at all. Could only eat a biscuit and drink milo. Nurse had to carjoled me to eat :p

Felt like puking so had to take a pill or two to curb it. Doc came to see me and said everything was a sucess and can go home the next day. Overjoyed coz I miss my own bed tons! Left in the early afternoon around 1pm the next day and after 2 weeks my stitches were removed and the scars as promised was very minimial. Happy with the results and palms stayed sweat-free thereafter. *Happi*

Did a follow up with my doc a few weeks later and we were all happy. I can shake hands with others freely now and no more worries. I am glad I had gone for the op plus the fees for it was affordable too. A pretty low risk op since I am not a smoker or drinker.

Had a friend who is in NS who had the op done and the fees subsidised. He too now can boast of dry palms and no longer adverse to shaking hands.

Be off sweaty palms! :p

CaN't I eAt iN pEaCe

Fine dining.... not for me...

To tell the truth, I can't figure out till this day what are the exact spoons to use for the different courses and where to place my utensils after use. I am a hands and fingers person when it comes to shelling prawns and other shelled creatures so to put on an act and shell a prawn with my fork and all at a luxury restaurant is really not my cup of (earl grey?!)tea.

So many etiquette to follow, just gives me a real big headache and loss of appetite. Speak in low tones, watch the napkin and every slight sauce spilling out from your lips, put your glasses/cups down on the table/saucer lightly coz a little 'ting!' will cause coffered heads to turn, eat with your fork and spoon and never with your hands, look glamourous even when i'm tucking into a tough plate of sirloin steak. I surrender *waves white flag*

Take me (or you'll see me) at any kopitiam anytime instead. I much rather be adorned in my comfy home clothes (t-shirts/tanks/shorts) and tuck into a noisy yet fun steamboat anytime. The coffee-tiam culture of use-your-hands-to-shell-whatever-you-want, talk as loud as you like, let-everything-hang-loose sits down very well with me.

It is very tiring to put on a fake facade while dinning at some high and mighty dinning place. Yes, they cost a bomb (will no doubt cause my wallet to bleed) but I am no eating sour grape though. I may not have the dough to go there every week and splurge but I am well contented with my kopi-tiams and food courts. Heck, good food need not be accompanied by outrageous price tags, rigid body movements and gestures!

aLL aBoUt CrAbS

I got a craving for....

CRABS!

Thanks to my foodie pal , Christel, who showed me ( or my hunger pangs) the delicious ways to cook crab doused in garlic and all... Yum! I want (female) crabs!

Used to indulge in butter crabs (cooked by the zi char uncles near my place) and it was super yummi! It beats the chilli and black pepper crabs hands down! The crispy light butter batter coats the crabs in a fragrance that gets your saliva on OT and when you bite into the sweet and rich crab, the taste is heavenly (and sinful too)...

The roe is even best. Reddish orange in colour after being fried, the slightly salty and powdery taste is the cream of the crop of the crab... Yum! I always insist on female crabs (for the hope of extra roe)...

The last time I had chilli crab I couldn't find the roe and I thought it was a little too messy hence my penchant for the butter fried ones.

I am soooooo drooling for it....

gOod RuN

Thought it was going to rain...

Luckily, it didn't... Was awake at around 8 plus in the morning yesterday and it was a PH (usually sleep till 10 plus or so and drag my sleep self outta my comfy bed on a weekend or PH)! What's the big occassion? Going for a run round the stadium lor :p

The sky was overcast and it started to rain around 9 plus (what a bummer!) so me and bf waited and finally around 10am, the hateful rain had ceased and we were able to go for our run as planned.

Arrived at the stadium ard 1030am and boy it was empty! Goody goody plus the sky was a nice shade of cloudy white and blue. No strong sun shinning its merciless rays down and a nice cool wind blowing. Perfect for a run!

Still remember that last time I went running with huiting and sooying, I had only managed to complete ONE round (*embarrassed*) so I told myself that it's THREE rounds and no less this time. Got some stretching done and I was huffing and puffing on the tracks in no time. Boy, it really takes much determination to keep on going at the tracks without stopping. We ran at our own pace while I try to distract myself while runnning by setting short markers and casting my eyes on the surroundings. Did not want to stop for a brisk walk as I was afraid I might lose the momentum.

And I managed to keep to the 3 rounds as promised. Woo hoo! What an achievement! Yeah yeah! Oh, an a shout out to my bf for breaking his own record too. You did great! Keep up the good work! ^_^

After the much celebrated run, we makan-ed, bathed and set for to Liang court's Mac so that my bf can revise and do his jap home work. I was keeping myself entertained with 8 day's sex symbol issue and The Lovely Bones novel by Alice Sebold. Then, we trooped off to Kino at Taka which was having a 20% sale off the books there and I got my fave Stephen King 4 Past Mid-night thriller collection.

We then met up with friends for a hearty meal at a resturant near Golden Mile Complex. To tell the truth, the last time I was there was a couple of years back when I was in my teens or younger. The place is dubbed "Little Thailand" and I gotta admit, it feels as if I was really in Thailand! The place was pretty rowdy and frankly I do not really like it. Was feeling relived the resturant was located inside the building but at another building down the street which was less rowdy and all.

The food was pretty nice with per dish tagged at S$4.80 except the fish dishes. We had prawns, chicken, vegetable, pork ribs etc. Yum! During dinner, I heard this chant of "Wan baooooo wan baooooo", I thought I was hearing things but it turned it was just an uncle with a 'stereo sounding voice' selling the chinese evening paper - Wan Bao. Haha, another friend oso thought he was hearing something he should not be hearing haha... Had a good laugh over it...

The guys then decided on a game of pool as an after dinner entertainment and we stayed the pool place till close to 1130pm and off to home we were.

My thighs were aching from the run and I was already shutting down... So tired but the PH was well spent. Had fun!

Another Monday....

Where has my weekend gone to??????

*confused*

Hello? Why can't the weekends pass by on a slower speed instead of speeding by aka on an expressway????????

Did minimial cleaning up of yours truly's room *opps*

Caught two movies - Click and Dragon Tiger Gate. The former was both rib-tickling and touching plus kate beckinsale is hot hot hot! The latter's storyline was a little far off although the moves were pretty smooth. Was amused by the three leads' lengthy hairstyles (long fringe covering half their faces and an eye ; a wonder they can kick butts with such poor visibility)...

Met up with friends for a steamboat dinner in amk (cheap and near my place), overslept for a run (shit!) and the rest was a blur hahaha....

Darn...

gO aWaY... bItCh

Go AwAY... bItCH!

OMG! No, do not misunderstand me, I did not utter the abve sentence.

Was watching "Child of Our Time" on arts central last night and was utterly shocked to hear this from a 2 year old's mouth.

The kiddo was one of the numerous kids that will tracked on telly for a period of 20 years to answer to the all time great question whether humans are born or nurtured to be the way we are. In yesterday's episode, children were brought into a viewing room (where professionals could observe them from a glass window), a counsellor (or some lady) held a red rubber ball infront of this smart-alec kiddo to see what her reaction will be.

To my surprise (and for a moment I thought my ears weren't functioning) she pushed the ball away and exclaiming: "Go away...bitch". The last word almost got me falling off my seat.

Her sentence was met with (nervous?) laughter from the mum and counsellor. OMG! At 2 yrs old, she knows who to direct the word "bitch" to? That shows how impressionable kids are. Bet her mum has been using that word pretty feverntly around her.

OMG! I just cant believe it. Catch the documentary if you can. Arts Central is showing its encore telecast so dun miss it. It's great!

gEtTiNg fLaBbY

I need to TONE up...

Seriously, I need to start getting exercise in my blood again but more often than not the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak... Oh yes, I gotta confess...

There's so much I want to do but 2 weekends are never enough (throw in some lazybones and tadahh nothing accomplished) :p

For starters, my legs are itching for a good good run. It's been ages since I had gone running. Round and round the stadium is where I used to go, nice flat ground, perfect! Throw in some fast tracks and the rounds go even faster.

Want to bike and blade too (although not realli an expert here) but the speed gives me an adrelin rush no less... Burn calories while doing something that I like? U bet!

Really got to work on my stamina... It's been a dip ever since I left my uniformed days behind haha...

Do you konw exercise release happy chemicals just like when you bite into a bar of chocolate minus all the calories and sin? It's true, you will feel more energised and calm after a fruitful bout of exercise. In fact, sweating it all out can be darn shiok.

Miss the days where I'll just laze by the pool on a weekday morning where the crowds are it's minimal. Just lazily watch the hours go by while getting a nice tan (too bad I am so tan proof that I need to go for long hours and days to get my tan to stay on) and dipping into the pool at intervals to fresh up. Aaaahhhh....those were the (still in school) days....

Maybe I'll start with some sit-ups and squats tonight *keep fingers crossed*

I'm cookie monster! -->

Okayyyyyyyyy...

Well, what a nice thing to start the day with... Got showered by blessings of a headful of hair courtesy of a lady standing pretty close infront of me in the train this morning while on the way to work. Surprisingly, I wasn't really mad but found it pretty amusing (though I can't say the same if I have a mouthful instead of being brushed by it). The daily (mis)ocurrences in a train...What can I say :p

Looking towards 6pm now... Feel like sleeping.... *zzzzzzz*

NDP 2006 Preview

Was at the National Stadium (one last look before it undergoes a face lift and top to toe surgery) with my beloved other half on Saturday for the NDP 2006 Preview.

Arrived at around 4 plus and the crowds were massive! You could see a predominate wave of reds and whites swarming the place. The sweltering heat did not retreat till 6pm so I and many others were basically perspiring buckets.

Got our fun packs (a red, white and black sling bag packed with biscuits, drinks, sweets, a magazine, a portable fan (the best item in the bag), handphone torch and a cap that lights up) and proceed to slowly shuffle our way to the stands.

We were in the yellow sector (sitting by the sides of the stadium) and fortunately not the butt-facing sector. The crowds were pretty high except for an irritating toddler seated behind us who kept on ka-chowing us with his feet, balloons and clap sticks. Threw the parents a couple of looks and received apologetic sorries from the mum and an oblivlion look from the dad *huff*

The show was lovely except I do not really get the story line of the parade and during the marching segment where all the different contingents had to stand still for ages, someone from a volunteer contingent fainted! The individual (duno man or woman coz too far to see clearly) just topple face first, people in the crowds were talking and pin-pointing. After a couple of minutes, the fallen was carried away by some army personel on a stretcher. *phew*

As it was a preview, parts of the parade where the ministers and president make their entry had to be simulated. Which was pretty funny actually as we all had to stand and wait in make-believe for VIPs to grace the stadium. Haha

We also had to sing a birthday song when it wasn't actually the Nation's birthday yet.

All came to an end all too soon and the parade highlight has got to be the beautiful fireworks that lit up the skies. Brillant shades of gold, green, red etc in various shapes and sizes just exploded right infronot of us! Breathtaking beyond words! You could see many people shooting their cameras and hp off! My bf was engrossed in capturing the sights on his mobile video.

Due to the massive crowds leaving the stadium, we stayed back for awhile to allow the crowds to clear. The emcees were asking the public to leave the stadium in an 'orderly and cilivlised' manner haha... Can guess why they had to 'remind' us...

Hop on a shuttle bus back to aljunied mrt station after an hour pass the parade and got home all exhausted but extremely happy. Thank god, the following day was a Sunday haha
