Hilarious...

I had the most impossible dream last nite.

I dreamt that the maestro (see above) of Passion Salon was cutting my hair.

HAHAAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHA

Goodness, it was like downright funni.

David Gan was like trimming my crowning glory in layers with his golden scissors *LOL*

Incredible. What a dream.

In other news, the Ch5 talkshow Tab TV on HIV/AIDS topic last night was pretty interesting.

Okay, before I delve into this taboo topic, Tab TV's commerical liner had me raised an eyebrow and sniggered.

"Exposing Singapore's dirty little secrets."

Omg! That is so tongue in cheek lah.

On to the last nite's topic, recently there has been a dramatic spike in the number of teens/young ppl contacting the deadly HIV virus due to increase sexual relationships with (multiple) partners and the ignorant (or should I say careless) ways of engaging in sexual intercourse without a condom.

Cases re-enacted during the show include a young girl in her teens contracting the virus from her BF, a young teen given a deadly bdae present in the form of a infected pros and interviews with masked teens who are infected with a variety of STDs.

It was a shocking relevation. An issue many of us juz sweep under the carpet and shy away from exposing ourselves to the glaring truth.

With such pressing figures on hand, it has become a red-alert to keep all (young and old) in the known and equipped with accurate info and protection.

The dated mentality that: 'It will not happen to me lah' should be trashed, shredded and burnt.

Unless you want to end your life early then by all means go ahead and put your life on the line.

It's no fun. Irreversible. And incurable.

Learn to protect yourself and ones you love around you.

Be Safe.

mEetiNg THe maKeR

One way ticket to hell.

I am amazed.

Namely by the reckless way some motorcyclist behave on the roads.

Was strolling home last night with the BF along the main road in front of my block. It was then we heard very loud motor sounds in the air even before we can see the object that was emitting it.

Then, these couple of motorcyclists (wun call em bikers coz their bikes look damn cheapo) of a group of 5 or 6 speed by. Steering and curving around the exisiting vehicles on the road in a very risky fashion with thick trails of exhaust smoke lingering in the cool night air.

WTF.

One was sooooooooooooooooo close to a car that if the car had shifted a lil more, it would have sent that motorcycle and its rider flying horizontally into the nearby bus stop.

Goodness, are those motorcyclist looking for a straight ticket to meet their maker or what?

Heartbreaking...

Caught the news of the cambodia canoeing tragedy on CH 8. Brought tears to my eyes when images of the deceased brothers and family members were brought to the river to 'call the souls/spirits' of the deceased back.

5 able and young men's lives put to a sudden heart wrenching halt.

*sigh*

Condolences to their families.

PrE-XmAS aTTaCK iN tOwN

It begins to feel a lot like X'mas...

at least in town.

Was in Orchard over the weekend and gosh the damn place was draped in X'mas glitterly lights and all sorts of X'mas trees in every possible decorated combinations.

Took pics with the big tree outside Paragon shopping centre on sat in the most number of similar poses haha...

Trying to desparately make my face appear smaller (and sharper) next to the BF. :P

We also seeked refuge from the blistering heat in the later part of the afternoon by belting outta tune tunes (ok lah, it's me being tuneless most of the time) at KBox over at cineleisure till like 9pm?

Wanted to grab a bite at Swensens (crown prince hotel) but the freaking place was packed with a looooong snaking queue! Gosh! Had no choice but to satisfy our rumbling tummies at the taka foodcourt which was emptying out soon.

Tucked into this jap 'fast food' noodles which was like a hot fave of mi and other sec sch pal during our JC years... Brought back memos man, the last time I ate it was like 6 years ago! *horrified* Has it been that long?????????

Anyway, am sick of town... Need to avoid that place for the whole wk and boy oh boy am not GOING THERE DURING X'MAS.

PSLE

294

Not some inspiring number for 4D or TOTO

but

the hi-score for this year's PSLE.

A 12 year old from St. Hilda's pri sch (in gifted stream, what else?) achieved this kick-ass genius score taking over the new record high PSLE score since 1993 (293).

Goodness, just 6 marks shy of a full score!

AaaaaAAAaaaaaahhhhhh!

Incredible.

Yours truly only got 226 wor~

I still freaking rem my choices for my list of sec schools based on my prelims 246 (hah! I stil rem wor~)

1) Anderson Sec Sch
2) Cedar Girls School
3) Ahmad Ibrahim Sec Sch
4)AMK Sec Sch
5) Mayflower Sec Sch

I forgot if we had to make a choice of 5 or 6 schools but I do know for sure I (and many of my other classmates) were dying to get into Anderson sec sch. It was like the hot hot hot choice at that time (plus near my home also lah).

Sadly, the REAL psle results was much lower den my prelims -_-III

And poor me could not get into any of my sec sch choices (actually my score is acceptable at MFSS but coz the aggregate was pushed up (or maybe coz I list it as my last choice?), I could not squeeze in. :(

I was then (randomly?) posted to Guangyang sec sch (gyss) of some tv chinese drama fame/location ground starring chen hanwei (Fang lao shi). Located in Bishan, it was a convenient straight bus (say 15 mins?) journey (very packed in the morning coz ppl are taking the SAME bus to bishan mrt, RI/Catholic high school along the way).

It was a frightening experience coz I was the ONLY one in my class to be posted there. Whoa Lau, I was seriously considering switching schools lor. But then, I stayed on coz of the nice bunch of ppl I got to know in my class.

The 4 years flew by in a blink of an eye. In fact too fast coz I really enjoyed my sec sch life. In fact, it's the best compared to my academic journey I have undergone (so far) in the course of my life.

ShiVeR

My mum made a winter chilly cold joke while we were watching telly last nite.

Channel 8 was showing 'The dude & the princess" (something like dat lah) featuring Bryan Wong as the anchor host ( & the dude) and one of the 7 princesses of mediacorp (last nite's episode was the lovely Fiona Xie).

During the breaks, there was this advert (I forgot which it was) and there was line which boomed: Yesterday is history...

My mum cut: Today is Geography

And I quiped: The day after is Literature

Hahahahahaahahahaha

Dunno why lah, but I found it really funny!

*grin*

Shit lah

Or should I take up piano instead?

A course fees of 200 hundred odd per term for indiv coaching once a wk...

CHIJMES

Here comes the bride, all dressed in white...

That's the opening tune before the bridal march at my cousin's wedding at CHIJMES ydae evening. And what a surprise it was coz a fake bride appeared... Well, none other than Abigail Chay herself!

The lady was a real rib-tickler provider entertainment for guests and sabo-ing 2 guys in the crowd (namely the groom's younger bro and friend) to be her bodyguard where in fact she was 'looking' for a hubby.

This is the 1st wedding I attended that was so funny and entertaining! Goodness, was luffing away while taking bites of the food.

CHIJMES a lovely place to get hitched with the lo-mantic cathedral and all... Aaaaah~

A cosy affair with guests arriving punctually, the wedding dinner was very pleasant. Met up with fellow cousins etc and got news that 2 other cousins are getting hitched next year!

Congrats! Looking forward to attending their dinners :)

Paiseh, no pics coz forgot to bring my camera along :p

To PLay Or Not To PLAy?

I wanna take keyboard lessons...

My keyboard is like collecting dust in my (messy...very) room...

Been reading up (a little) on the basics of playing the instrument but am a little confused.

Should I take up lessons at Cristofori music school or yamaha? Group or indiv ($$$)?

Any suggestions?

WhAT Was I ThInkInG?

Just a couple of the most absurb things I did:

1) Stapled my fingers when I was in lower pri. And pull out the darn staplets straight after the deed. The stapler is still in my pencil case till now.

2) Purposely drop a glass onto the floor while I was lazing on the sofa. So as just to see if my mum wil scold me for doing it. I was like maybe 5 or 6 yrs old? FYI, my mum did not scold me :p

3) Went on a whole day apple/banana/watermelon diet in my teens. Lost a kg or 2 but have put it all back on. Plus it's unhealthy lah, dun try it.

4) Dress my younger bro (he was like 2 or 3 yrs old and I was like 7 or 8 yrs old) with blankets and other assorted cloths as a bride. FYI: He actually allowed me to girlify him up. Hahahahaahahahahahaahaa

More to come~

La La LaNd

It's wonderful how music/radio fills up the empty airwaves...

Almost every office and every car turns up the radio/music... Not only does it avoid a senses of musical distractions, sooth the soul (at times), have u bursting into silent giggles when the deejays break into some hilarious jokes/bloopers and basically warm up the chilly empty sound waves...

In fact, I have not tuned into radio-lala land ages since mp3/mp4 invaded the world of music.

Recently with my new seating allocated nearer to the office hi-fi, I am often feed to the tunes of the radio namely 100.3fm (for now).

Does help in keeping mi awake at times :)

Are You A papEr PeEpiNg ToM?

I admit I am (in a way)...

When the journey on the train gets a little bored and I have no idea where to rest my eyes upon, I read off the loud headlines that a fellow passenger is reading... be it the newpaper, ST, wanbao lah...

In fact, take a look around the passengers (sitting or standing up) around a passenger engrossed in his/her daily and 99% of the time, at least one will be sneaking a peek or having his/her eyes trained on the papers.

This is still pretty acceptable as we humans are curious by nature (aren't we?) but this crosses the line:

Imagine you are minding your own business and happily digesting in the latest gossip in the entertainment circle in your daily wanbao. Then from the corner of your eye, you sense a looming shadow over your paper...

You turned to see the passenger sitting next to you leaning in to 'share' your paper.

Familiar?

I have seen this countless times on the train.

Please people, if you wanna read, get your own copy.

Or at least ask. Don't be a paper peeping tom.

MSn On StRiKE

My MSN has decided to go on strike on and off depending on it's mood...

I am unable to log and have to resort web messenger which sucks basically coz the other party whom I am chatting with can't see my replies or only see them like hours later -_-III

Why? Why? Why???????????????????

On a 'good', I cant log into my normal msn for like half a day and voila, i can log in the next hour. So tell me...

1) it's my msn account that has probs?

2) my comp has probs?

3) my msn messenger throwing tantrums?

Oh yah, i can log into msn normally on my colleagues comp -_-III

HK cELeB

Ekin Cheung - Huo Yuan Jia Promo Meet & Greet session with fans

Was at Cineleisure Orchard's KBox on Sat with the BF as his sis's got spare tixs to the event above. It was my 1st time seeing Ekin Cheung in the flesh.

Previously (approx. 10 yrs ago?) I only got to know of this HK celeb thru his hugely popular series of 'gu huo zai' aka thug/hooligan :p

He was like hot cakes man...sparking off a trend of guys copying his style with long casual swept hair.

The tixs:

The huge poster on the world. Was a joint event organised by radio station 100.3fm.

Took pics of the fans...waiting for Ekin to arrive...

More fans and other assorted kbox, events people.

The man himself...finally

Bantering with the emcee - Li Mei from 100.3fm. Ekin made a comment that Singapore girls appear a lil fleshier compared to 10 yrs ago~ *oops*

A karoke competition was organised with 3 fans taking part. This lady (i assume she was from some Ekin fan club) won the competition and walked away with kbox vouchers and huo yuan jia dvd sets.

Throughout the whole session, Ekin was talking in cantonese like 99% of the time. I had to turn to my BF for translation. The host was lively and chatty... On the whole, quite an enjoyable event. Ekin may be in his forties now but he is pretty charming in person :)
-------------------------------------------------------------
On a side note:
rainy months ahead..sucks.

sTEp inTo the GaRdEn

Botanic Gardens day out...

The 2nd trip to the place where's it's best to hang out on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

The swans at the huge pond in the Gardens where people are busy feeding them bread crumbs and other assorted (not necessarily edible snacks -_-III)

Isn't he cute? Snapped a pic of this lil Eurasian toddler. He was initially happily playing with his maid when mi and the bf decided to take his pic. After seeking permission from his maid, we carjoled him to pose. But he shy lah, like want to burst into tears le :p

Another cute lil Indian tod. Initially I tot the child was a HE, but actually is a SHE. Very adorable and friendly lil girl.

Beautiful sheltie and very obedient too. Took a pic of it whilst it was jogging with its very friendly owner. Cropped myself outta the pic as I look like an idiot with my eyes closed.

A Boxer? Am not sure what breed is it? But it sure has long spiny legs wor~

The group of maids with a beagle and another handsome sheltie.

Dunno what flower is this though...but I tot it looked pretty vibrant looking :)

A very heartwarming scultpure of a mother playing with her young child. This pic was taken by the BF against the warm rays of the sun. Lovely

Damn, I feel like going to the Gardens again...

Yum!

2 Loves....

I have been craving for this Katong delish snack... Too bad Katong is like darn far from where I live lor...

The famous Katong Tau Kwa Pok

Just look at the plump tau kwa stuffed with overflowing amounts of corriander, bits of duck meat, fish cake and other lip smacking ingredients... orgasmic!

On another tasty treat (but inedible of course~ at least in Singapore lah)... My little over 2 year old furry fella:

Whisky!

The manja furball in mum's arms while she watches telly.

Whisky since his steralisation surgery has put on a lil weight... (or maybe coz his fur's longer?)

I love his eyes!

Next entry: VERY belated botanic garden pics of cute toddlers, flowers, dogs and maids :p
