OVeRHEarD

'Toopid arse-hole'

Overheard in the train today, when a lady got super irritated with an impatient man who blamed her and other commuters for not moving to allow him to alight.

Well, the truth is there was some shuffling ard to make space for him to move. No one was rooted to the spot.

TuNing InTo ThE F1 isLaNDwiDe

Another wkend bites the dust.

Was in the Clarke Quay vicinity ydae for a spot of heavy dinner and jalan jalan and boy was the place packed with people looking on the numerous telly/big screens for the live telecast of the F1 race. Even the Audio House outlet at Liang Court, had the hilarious scene of a staffer trying to switch channels on the huge LDC telly in the store to channel 5 to watch the F1 but made a fool of himself as he 'fondled' he whole telly and still could not find the tuning buttons till a bursting with laughter colleague came to his rescue.

His hapless expression and the peals of laughter from his fellow colleagues was a sight to behold.

Anyways, the bf and I were eager to escaped from the throngs of post-F1 audiences so we quickly hopped on our bus for home before 10pm.

A public holiday coming up on wed and my fingers are itching for a game of mahjong :D

WhEre'S my BuS?

Raindrops keep falling on my head...
And the bus just refused to come...

Alighted from the train this morning on the way to walk only to be welcomed by the sight of a super packed bus stop full of impatient, wet, frazzled and ultra sianz fellow commuters. For some unknown reason, the buses took a long time to come and I heard a lady complaining to her friend that she had been waiting for 30mins.

After stagnating at the still-packed bus stop, I decided to pop open my brolly and trudged thru the heavy downpour and floodish roads. Along the way, caught sights people with brollies running for cover with newspapers and sweaters, a broken down grey Ferrari with it's owner squatting pathetically on the road looking at his halted horsepowered vechicle and the possibility of getting splashed and soakin wet as cars travelled along the road.

By the time I reached office after the 15min walk, the damn bus still has not arrived.

ThE buS RiDe

What a ride~

Was on the bus home with the bf in clementi/bukit timah area. Hopped on an air-conditioned double decker bus home and was happily minding our own business throughout the journey when an incredible waft similar to the stench of rotten eggs creeped into our nostrils.

We.stopped.talking.immediately.

First thought into our minds: Someone.Farted.

Held our breaths for a min but bursting to luff coz we were conjuring up images of cartoons when a fart stench is depicted as a slow moving trail of semi-transparent green smoke. Somehow that image always tickles us.

Then the stench dispated (we turned those aircon knobs to blow us directly and thankfully the strength of the airconditioning was pretty strong) and we continued talking.

And.it.happened.again.not.once.not.twice.but.four-five.times.

Yes. 4- 5 times~

Someone in the bus on the upper deck realli had a bad tummyache.

MiLkING iT..NoT

The big milk scare.

Guess by know everyone is the loop of the big milk controversy that has taken the world by shock. An numbers of babies had been take by the grim reaper due to contaminated milk/milk powder in China and many milk based products from China have been recalled by the AVA.

The harmless white rabbit milk candy is now equat-able to popping a toxic pill and drinking Dutch Lady Strawberry milk is like downing a bottle of kerosene.

So sad. Am a fan of Dutch Lady's chocolate milk.

Just the luncheon meat scandal. Now milk is tainted too.

*wails*

mY wAtER BoTTLe

I found the solution to my ease my lower back aches when the red carpet rolls out each month.

The hot water bottle.

Yes, a simplistic rubber casing hot water bottle that U can easily find in personal care stores such as Guardian. I got mine in red for close to 6 bucks at Guardian.

The soothing heat from the hot water encased in the rubber casing provided much relief (even better than applying balm and so much more affordable) and I can just adjust it on my lower back and let it sooth my aching back for the whole with mayb just 2 changes of hot/warm water.

I sold :D

They MeANt WeLL BuT...

Was tuned into the channel 8 program 'Focus' and part of show was spent broadcasting how parents are gathered at an event to looks for suitable life-long partners for their kids.

Well meaning parents with their children's pictures in hand, turning up in masses hopeful of getting a match made in heaven. According to the organisers interviewed, this practice of mass gathering of parents match-making for their kids is pretty prevalent in parts of China. A leisurely outing by the park/lake as parents pour over photographs. Some strike a deal while some returned home in vain.

The show also interview young people on the streets presumely of marriage-able age between mid 20s to 30s on this new trend that is catching up in Singapore plus the government's call to get married and procreate. Many in fact I tink all were pretty adverse to this trend. Horrified is a much better word.

I think I will probably freak out and pack my bags for Antartica if my parent ever slip my pic into her bag without my knowing and meet up with some random strangers' parents in an attempt to match-make mi. Well meaning she may be but in this day and age, where we are free to make our own choices, getting set up for a date with a person I have never seen before is just...scary. Who cares if he is flithy rich or comes from a reputable family background or some high ranking officer or drives a flashy car. I dun give a damn. If I need a date, I jolly well look for my man myself.

Thank god, my mum doesnt engage in this kind of behaviour behind my back.

DiNner N mAc

Met up with the bf's frenz for dinner on Sat in town.

We had a light snack and a side-splitting time luffing over the faulty bench the 3 guys squeezed themselves onto at a HK Cafe at Cineleisure and a fren's ignorant but absoutely humourous discovery of a gay beach in Australia (plus an inside joke on getting chased).

We then adjourned to Tonkichi (the outlet at Lido) for yummi dinner of ramen, fried pork loin/fillet, fried oysters and udon. A personal fave haunt for dinner, I am once again impressed by the service at the Lido outlet (just like the one at Suntec), the manager was very pleasant and kept her cool (even one of the guys ka-chowed her -_-III).

Latest temptation: the macbook air in stunning red

:D

LoVe to B a BeE

It's great to be busy.

We may nag at the overflowing work. The late nites and the never ending gushes of emails.

But deep down inside, it gives us the sense of achievement and makes time fly by in the wink of an eye.

Admit it.

I need to get my masks after work. Hope Guardian still have sale *makes mental note*

If We TOok tHat LiFt

Freaky!!!

Had a near freak accident with some of my colleagues yesterday.

The 4 of us had left the office and as usual were at the lift lobby waiting for the lifts to arrive. There were 4 lifts and we stood infront of one (which was at the 10th storey) and waited for it to descend to the 5th storey. When suddenly one of my colleagues remembered she left her sweater in the office and told us to wait for her while she went back to take it.

So we decided to give the lift a miss when it reached the 5th storey. At that point of time, my back was facing my colleagues chit chatting with them when we heard a loud crash.

Our mouth wide opened, we witnessed a large piece of acrylic crashed from the ceiling onto the floor of the lift. Smashing into pieces everywhere. Some of the pieces got stuck at the lift entrance and prevented the door from closing.

It looked something like this. You get the picture.

All of us just stared at the scene and at one another in total shock.

Scenes of the dire consequence if we had took this lift when that big acyrlic piece fell upon unsuspecting us.

*shudder*

We can't imagine how horrible it would have been.

I am so wary of the damm lifts now.

U can say my colleague saved our lives. Our benefactor. :D

WhAT A MoN

Frantic frenzy Monday it was.

A series of 3 ads in 3 different languages got us all busy the whole day till this morning.

It was incredibly heart stopping and sweat inducing.

I need a sedative.

cOke KeePs Mi up and AbOUT

I am super duper sleepy now.

Under-estimated the power of a harmless looking can of coke (again!)

Lost sleep over the sizzling hot curves of this drink.

Keep mi awake till 3am just coz I downed a can last night as I was feeling incredibly thirsty beyond words.

Tossed and turned since mid-nite to no avail.

Wonderful. Now I feel like Oscar the grouch from Sesame Street.

Where's my worm?

SpLiSH sPlaSh

What a downpour it was ydae evening.

Was about to head for home from the office when the heavy rain started splishing and splashing like no one's business. My colleagued lombang-ed mi in her cab to the nearest MRT Station and I managed to stay dry till when I alighted at the bus stop infront of my block.

For some unknown reason, the bus driver did not stop infront of the bus shelter but a few steps away from it even though there were no buses infront of him. So oso kena wet hair when I got home -_-III

The rain was so heavy, I reckoned even if got brolly oso useless. Unless we don a raincoat/poncho. The wind was blowing in all directions.

So terrible~ But absolutely delish to slp in when the rain ceases and the air is super duper chilled. :D

But am still tired lah. The brother starts school again today, and woke mi up from my slumber by making alot of noise lah. And in 3 wks time, he wil b on vacation for close to a mth. WTH. So many holidays. I oso wan!

obNoXiOUS kIDDO N pArENT

Some kids reali make mi wanna slam their thick skulls into the wall.

And this I blame their oblivious parents.

Was at Clarke Quay ydae evening with the BF after a damn appeitising and satisfying Indonesian meal along Killiney Road (will elaborate more on the food). Was holding on to my delish cheesecake bought fresh off a cakery at Liang Court and we were attempting to make our way through the throngs of ppl gathered in the area.

There were displays of huge-ass lanterns for the Lantern festival and families were out in full force. Was climbing up the stairs to get over to Merchant Court and there was this lil girl ard the age of 9 standing the middle of the stairs with her mum and swinging her arms. She almost hit me and I was teethering on the edges on the verge of falling backwards while trying to 'protect' my cake. Boy was I pissed!

No only did she NOT apologise, her equally irritating mum oso din bother to say a word and took her daughter's hand to led her somewhere else.

U bet I was cursing under my breath. Wanted to slam the mum's face into the wall. *fumes*

*inhales deeply*

On to the delicious yummi Indonesian food. Located along Killiney road, opposite the SingTel Hello Shop, there is jazzy indonesian eatery that sells absolutely delish chicken rendang! Covered in lotsa thick black gravy of the tastiest spices, the smell got my tastebuds salivating in overdrive.

I wanna go there again!
