bBq

Over the weekend, had a BBQ at downtown east with pals as one of the ladies is going on 3mth stint in Korea.

It must have been eons since I manned a bbq pit and honestly, it was quite a joy bbq-ing satay and tucking into the array of smokin-hot food from prawns, stuffed mushrooms, crabsticks, chicken wings, satays, sambal sting ray, spicy sotong etc.

Stuffed was the word to describe the end result after the bbq.

Then for entertainment, we had a game of Bluff where our faces were transformed into canvas of masterpieces for amateur artists.

It's been awhile I had so much fun.

BrOwEd

I trimmed by brows.

So did the bf.

Quite a brow-raising experience for him.

We both did the thread and trim and honestly, I tot my brow-specialist was threading away all my brows. I felt like an overgrown lawn being mowed.

WaKe Up!

Is it outright bias-ness?

Or a case of someone exaggerating things that it has reached a stage where it is unfair to other party coz their side of the story has not been told?

This is a tough world. U got to be strong if u wan to fight your way to the top. No greenhouse sheltered pot of plant will I be.

Honestly, I have ZERO TOLERANCE against ppl who exaggerate.

I NeVeR hAd sO muCh fUn

on a mp3 player till my itouch came along.

In fact for the first year of its existence, it has spent most of its time sitting prettily at the bottom of my cluttered drawer. Been neglecting it in favour of the nifty ipod shuffle which was smaller + lighter and a breeze to use with its clip on feature.

Then came the moment of enlightenment. Colleagues who are a great fans of iphone introduced me to the world of interative downloadable FREE games on itunes/app store.

Due to the a lack of a certain 3G software in itouch (which you can purchase from the apps store for US$4 plus), my itouch was a barren playground. After downloading the software, it is slowly morphing into an amusement park.

Been utilising this baby to the max and plugging it into my desktop at work to fill it up with games.

My top 3 fave FREE games include:

Tap Tap Revenge 2 (got a whole lotta FREE songs to download!!)

Stone Loops lite (similar to puzzle bubble except its coloured gems and set in a jurassic setting)

Extreme Waterway (enjoy exciting slides down a winding and never ending waterway high above a cosmo city but beware of the snipping pinchers of crabs, evil ducks etc threatening to slow u down and throw u off the edge)

SizzLeR

Your truly, make my first trip there on Sat evening for a lovely dinner with the bf and frenz at the Toa Payoh outlet.

Having heard of this steak and salad bar place for eons and seeing the snaking queues many-a-times at Suntec, we have finally stepped foot and dined at Sizzler.

And boy, I got to rave about the lovely salad bar and soups.

The cream mushroom soup was laced with generous mushrooms bits, the egg mayo was super-licious and so were the juicy button mushrooms. I had a medium rare ribeye with an accompanying scallop sauce. The beef was sliced into pieces (so I hadn't need to cut much haha) and was not too bad (except can be bloodier). The scallop sauce on the other hand wasnt much to shout about.

Total bill came to about 35 bucks per pax.

I wanna go again!

ThE pRaWn AddIcT

Taking a breather to blog.

I am a fan of prawn mee.

Soup or hokkien fried style. I love both to bits.

Hence, imagine my utmost joy when I discovered a stall at Alexander Market (in the vicinity of Queenway Shopping centre + Ikea) that sells a heavenly broth of prawn mee soup. Having been there a couple of times for lunch (it is a couple of bus stops away from my office), it was by pure chance/luck that I tasted this prawn of a gem. Coz usually, I would order the heavenly (yes, another tasty discovery) of bak chor mee (highly raved by a colleague who used to lived there).

On a fateful day (months ago), the bf and I were in the area planning to go to Ikea for a spot of furniture-window shopping but were unwilling to splash out too much $$ for dinner and headed for the said hawker centre. Due to the evening hours, the bak chor mee stall was closed and there wasn't much of a choice, hence we decided for the prawn mee soup as it was one of the few that was opened at that hour.

The dish was served and frankly our first impression of it was lacklustre. The soup broth looks thin/diluted but hey presto, the first taste of it totally blew us both over. The harmless looking broth was a heady rush of prawny flavours that left a tasty aftertaste. In fact, everytime I am there, I will always request for an extra bowl of soup.

It's that gd.

As for hokkien mee, there's a stall beside the yong tau foo stall at AMK Market Hawker Centre that is absoutely yums.

A lil bird has also twittered to me that there is this stall also at AMK Market Hawker Centre that sells lovely prawn mee soup. I am so gg to check it out.
