Taking a breather to blog.
I am a fan of prawn mee.
Soup or hokkien fried style. I love both to bits.
Hence, imagine my utmost joy when I discovered a stall at Alexander Market (in the vicinity of Queenway Shopping centre + Ikea) that sells a heavenly broth of prawn mee soup. Having been there a couple of times for lunch (it is a couple of bus stops away from my office), it was by pure chance/luck that I tasted this prawn of a gem. Coz usually, I would order the heavenly (yes, another tasty discovery) of bak chor mee (highly raved by a colleague who used to lived there).
On a fateful day (months ago), the bf and I were in the area planning to go to Ikea for a spot of furniture-window shopping but were unwilling to splash out too much $$ for dinner and headed for the said hawker centre. Due to the evening hours, the bak chor mee stall was closed and there wasn't much of a choice, hence we decided for the prawn mee soup as it was one of the few that was opened at that hour.
The dish was served and frankly our first impression of it was lacklustre. The soup broth looks thin/diluted but hey presto, the first taste of it totally blew us both over. The harmless looking broth was a heady rush of prawny flavours that left a tasty aftertaste. In fact, everytime I am there, I will always request for an extra bowl of soup.
It's that gd.
As for hokkien mee, there's a stall beside the yong tau foo stall at AMK Market Hawker Centre that is absoutely yums.
A lil bird has also twittered to me that there is this stall also at AMK Market Hawker Centre that sells lovely prawn mee soup. I am so gg to check it out.
