OuT oF tHE pAN

I am impressed...

....with Out Of The Pan restaurant located at B1 Raffles City Shopping Centre.

Not just with the food but the service too.

Was there for dinner with fellow colleagues and we tucked into nice and fresh crepes - smoked ham, B.LT (bacon), the huge serving of Unforgettable Cesar Salad, very tasty mushroom soup, and a chocolately citrusy waffles. Yum!

We had a small slice of cake for the birthday girl amongst us which was bought from a shop outside of the restaurant, although Out Of The Pan have a policy of forbidding outside cake, the waiters were kind enough to have our slice of cake placed on their restuarant's plate AND painstakingly decorate the plate and cake with strawberries, blueberries and artistic spread of choc sauce and a condensed-looking sauce!

We were pleasantly surprised. The waiters and chef were sooooooooooo nice!

Thumbs up for the wonderful service and food at Out Of The Pan! I am definitely so going there again :)

tALeS fRoM tHe CrypT

WoooOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooOOOOOooo

Was working late in the office with a fellow colleague, bosses and a client. Inevitably, due to the late hours, stillness of the nite and roaming minds, the creepy stories of ghost popped up.

Once the stories start, they can't stop. No matter how much my hair stands, my goosepimples pop out, I still wanna keep my ears open to the shivering tales.

It's just those moments when u catch a horror movie, hide your whole damn face/cover your eyes with your hand but still keeping a crack open to peep through :p

Anyway client was telling us how haunted her working place was and the various close encounters with the supernatural. Damn freaky I tell u...

But nothing beats this story my collleague shared with me while the 2 of us were safely snuggled in Mac with our value meal and happy meal

*takes a deep breath*

Here it goes...

Warning: please ensure it's daytime as u read this and in the company of living breathing fellow humans.

Once a group of girls went for camp and stayed in dorm which was haunted. The dorm mistress had warned them to go to bed early as the place is foreign to them. If they ever heard strange voices calling out NEVER respond to it.

The girls then retreated to their respective rooms, bunking with fellow mates on double decker beds. There's this particular girl who bunked with fellow girlies in the furthest room, sleeping on the lower deck.

The first night she heard a heavy low knock on the doors infront was freaked out. The knocks were accompanied by a plead: 有人在吗?

This went on for all the doors while totally freaked out gal shivered and prayed, grasping onto her cross and rosary.

The next night the same thing happened. Except the frightened gal dropped her precious cross and rosary onto the ground in a fright. She then quickly bent down to pick em up only to see a hideous face looking back at her from the crack of the door below.

The ghost screamed. The girl screamed and fainted.

The next morning, she confessed what she saw and experience to the dorm mistress only to hear the revealing truth:

Years ago, a girl who was outcasted form the rest, took her own life by jumping down from a block. She fell headown first into a bloody mess. Hence she returned to the dorm seeking for a friend to listen to her sad story. She moved about from door to door in upside down fashion hence explaining the hideous face she saw at the crack of the door.

The dead girl had screamed in delight in founding a 'friend' before her 'friend' passed out.

*shiver*

scary leh.

DiNO dReAmS

I had a nitemare last nite.

What did I dream? Wanna make a guess?

A zombie? A ghost? Falling off?

Nope. Nope. Nope.

I dreamt of a dino invading my home.

Yes. A T-Rex to be specific which could talk.

I betcha rolling your eyes or going "What?!".

It sounds damn absurb now but I can assure u it was a whole lot scarier in the dream.

The T-Rex was hot on my trails hoping to eat mi up :(

Absurb nightmare courtesy of too many slices of cheesecake after 11pm.

Damn.

The BF's BDaE

A post bdae blog entry.

Celebrated the BF's bdae last yr in dec where he turned *ahem* okay shall not divluge his age here :p

Anyways, the search for the bdae cake was a hectic affair. Where we finally settling for a mini mango cake bought from a mini bakery in Raffles City Shopping Centre at like 9pm plus?

Proceeded for a quiet place to celebrate his special day :)

Concentrating and making wish in the midst of the candle glow.

The birthday cake. It was really delish and cute!

Time to blow out the candles to a greath bdae!

Not wanting to bring the cake home, we gorged on it till it's wiped clean. Just the 2 of us hor...
So damn full and saturated with cream and sugar at the end of it.

Bored and a lil high on sugar - the bf made mi pose for pic. -_-III

I still can't believe we managed to swipe the whole cake clean in under half an hour after a full dinner. OMG!

Eat SaShimi Not BRuLeE

Met up with Christel after work for sashimi and sweet dessert pig out session after work.

Dined at my fave fave fave Hanabi (located at Odean Towers) for their buffet priced at $33 per pax. Lovely tender fresh sashimi (I heart maguro to death), chwanamushi, maguro drenched in black pepper dressing (maguro zuke), hokkaido crab in paper steamboat, prawn tempura, miso and pork belly soup, fried shishamo and so much more...

Just remember:

When you are @ a jap buffet: whack the sashimi.

VERI VERI IMPORTANT OK.

After we were done, we proceeded for tiramisu, sofiato (duno how to spell) and creme brule infused with pistachio @ Menotti (Raffles City Shopping Centre).

The last time I was at Menotti was like over a year ago and had a yucky meepok pasta but the tiramisu and creme brule were sooooooooooo heavenly. Hence I HAD to order this two desserts again ydae plus the sofiato (a nice brown chocolate cake with a scoop of cookies & cream ice cream - which Christel polished 2/3 of of it! Surprise surprise, you broke your own record with just a glass of warm water! :p)

The tiramisu was lovely but the creme brule...

:
:
:
:

tasted -_-III

It was COLD; it used to be warm and cold.

It was coloured in a disgusting off green colour due to the pistachio nuts. It used to be a nice warm yellow custard.

Whoa lau! I am NEVER having the creme brule anymore.

*boo hoo*

HaVe yOur CaKe aND eAt it ToO

Cheesecakes...

From the Chicago cheesecake (From Coffeebean & Tea Leaf) to the white choc raspberry cheesecake (also from Coffeebean & Tea Leaf) to the Oreo Cheesecake - Big O (from NYDC) to the plain good ole cheesecake from this Japanese bakery (damn I forgot the name), all just taste simply goooooooooooood lah!

A fan of cheesecake, I love digging into this slice of heaven after meal dessert. Although it's sinfully calorie laden but how can I say NO?

Yummmmmmmmiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeee!

AdVeRTiSiNg FOr...

Was reading the TNP ydae evening and when I came across the classified ads page I was totally intrigued.

If you scanned the classified ads closely, you will notice that those ads advertising massage services look damn downright dodgey and sleazy.

Just look at these highlights that the ads point to a good massage salon/service:

Beautiful
Skilful
New Girls
Sexy

-_-III

Excuse me? Going for a good massage to relieve the tension and knots in my muscles would I give a damn if the lady delivering the massage is sexy or beautiful?

AND why do like 99% of those ads show a sole pic of a dubious sexy lady with overflowing cups?????

The answer is pretty OBVIOUS isnt it?

Are YOu GamE?

Mind Cafe

Went down to this cosy boardgame cafe's branch at Clarke Quay on Sat nite with the BF and his buncha friends. It was my first time (a few others) stepping into Mind Cafe after hearing lots from the BF and friends.

For about 10 odd dollars, each person was entitled to a drink of your choice, some munchies and snacks and 2 hours of endless boardgames to choose from. We played 3 games - taboo, a dinosaur-bone-grabbing-game and another hand gesture (non-rude lah) game.

The dino game and taboo was the best and most fun esp the dino one. For example, if 8 persons are playing the games, each will receive 9 cards (a mixture of diff colours) and there will be 7 bones on the table. To win, one must be the quickiest to get all 9 cards in the same colour and grab a bone. Once the first person grabs a bone, the rest of the players can proceed to grab a bone too. The last person without a bone loses.

One can garner all cards of the same colour by calling out and exchanging with other players. But all parties will not know the colour of the cards exchanged as it's a trial and error luck thing. The trick to the game is to be focused and sharp to see who picks up a bone and swift enough to grab one too.

Lotsa of laughter, screaming and hysterics guaranteed.

Head on down to Mind Cafe! There's lots more games to play and bond with friends and colleagues!

I'm @ IMM

Now, which girl does not like shopping? The rush of snarring a bag/shoe/top/pants at unbelievable prices, the unmistakeable heart thumping love at first sight blah blah (Okay, Christel you are an exception :p)

I lurrrrrrve to shop (save for hectic periods during Xmas) and the grounds of Taka, Wisma, Marina Sq, Suntec etc were my playground ever since.

May I know announce another NEW shopping mall that I would love to haunt on a daily basis if not for it's located at far side of the West...

IMM

Yes, located at Jurong, I step foot into this gigantic and revamped mall last week and spent hours popping in and out of the big outlets of Watsons, Guardian, Mondo etc (and inevitably dug deeper into my wallet) while the BF slaved in his office located in Jurong.

In fact, I was a lil sian when he arrived coz I have not explored the whole of IMM fully YET. I wan to go there again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*****************************************

My latest fetish: patent wedges from Mondo. Too bad they bit real hard :(

A CupPa CoFFeE pRiNcE

I am currently infatuated with this new romantic comedy called "Coffee Prince" showing every Mon to Fri on Channel U at 10pm. Starring the like-able and very adorable Yoon Eun Hye (of Princess Hours fame) as a tomboyish female who pretends to be the gay partner of a coffee house owner (Gong Yoo) and along the way falling in love with him.

Hilarious scenes occured when Yoo finds himself falling for Hye and not realising 'he' is actually a she. Going for counselling etc to reassure himself that he likes females and not guys. Hye is a joy to watch, filling out her role with just the right amount of foolishness and absolute adorability (heck, I know this word does not exist; but I think its sounds gd lah).

The show also stars 2 other actors (Yoo's cousin and his gf) but again who cars about them? I just wanna see Yoo and Hye throughout the 1 hour espisode. :p

I love this young actress to bits since her Princess Hours and was extremely delighted when I caught Ch U's trailer on Coffee Prince debuing on New Year's eve.

Not a fan of K or J drama (save for 'Accidental Kiss' and GTO - both J Dramas), Coffee Prince has made me love and gotten addicted to this caffeine loaded beverage instantly.
An addiction I wun want to kick. :)

SqUAsHED & sWeaty

What a way to usher in the New Year 2008

Met up with the BF and his friends at Suntec for dinner before we proceeded to the very cram and very crowded Esplanade on Mon.

God forbid coz we had totally no idea what was to come. And why we actually decided to cross over to the Esplanade for like 10 mins of fireworks showcase and getting all sweaty, hot and bothered for eons. -_-III

It was the FIRST time ALL of us experienced the terrible feeling of shuffling every few seconds and how is it like to be a sardine packed in a tin can with hundreds other sardines.

No more next time man.

Thankfully we escaped unscath (except for the buckets of sweat we sweated out) at the end of the countdown and lingered in town till like 2am? Coz there were NO cabs (the empty ones were ALL ON CALL) and even if there is an empty cab that is not on call, the roads were seriously packed.

At an unearthly hour of 2am, the roads looked like its in the middle of a rush hour at 7pm.

*faint*

So we went to Carls Junior for a supper snack before walking to bugis hoping to get a cab there. Like to express my gratitude to a friend who got her dad to ferry the 4 of us home. Thanks! That's was really sweet of u :)

Hope you guys had a great time counting down on Mon!
