N3

My latest obsession:

Ninety-nine nights (N3)

The Co had acquired a Xbox late last year and before I got hooked on N3, we were all frantically racing on Gotham Racer. Started playing N3 a couple of weeks ago with the title character - Inpphy (the lady knight in flaming red).

The game was released in the US in 2006. I was so hooked (and a couple of colleagues) that all I could think of (during office hours) is to superglue myself infront of the tv and smashed all those hordes of enemies in the form of goblins, trolls, a fat ass toad prince and his lil froggies etc.

Finally cleared to level 6 and now I have take on the mission of 2 other characters before I can continue Inppy's misson.

U can read more about the game here

aNOThER FLeSh PArAdE At OrChaRd?

Passed by Forum Shopping mall last nite.

A lot of hookers. Dressed in super tight clothing, sitting / standing waiting for potential customers to strike up a deal with them.

Is S'pore's famed shopping district becoming into a red light district?

RiFLe aWaY

Singapore Rifle Club
The Co organised an outing the SRC at bukit timah and it was the 2nd time I held a gun in my hands.
The first time was during JC Yr 1 when I crashed my friend's Air Rifle CCA session. I still rem how I suck at it and how heavy the rifle was. Hahaha...

Anyways, the outing was much fun as the instructors gave us a briefing on the history of shooting live targets such as pigeons (but I found it cruel lah). For the session at SRC, we (thankfully) no shoot live animals but targets in the form of a red clay circular thingy which they called a 'pigeon'.

[pic of the instructor (ok his face is out of the snap frame :p) and the rifles.]

The shotgun was god damn heavy k. Everyone of us had 30 rounds or so and I managed (by luck I think) to shoot 7/8 clay pigeons. We then took a break and proceeded for a game of table tennis which was hilarious as I mis-aimed my ping pong ball endlessly (sorry, coach I have let u down tremendously :p).
[no pic of mi with rifle coz I think i look messy/eyes closed/weird expression smiles]

It was fun and look at my 'victory mark':

The bruise was probably incurred from the recoil from the guns. Even my lower jaw hurt coz we had to rest the lower jaw on the gun when we fire. That bruise had proceeded to turn purplish/blue/black/yellow after the BF insisted to rub it. I was hollering like a mad person coz it hurt like hell but yes bo bian lah, muz disperse the clot.

*ouch*

StRaItS kITcHeN

A review on Straits Kitchen at the Grand Hyatt

The bf and I went over to SK (Straits Kitchen) on sat for its famed dinner buffet spread of local dishes. Armed with rumbling tummies and over-active digestive juices, we were pleasantly given a corner table.

Back track a little. I had phoned up the reservation number to reserve our table and being a week earlier I was amazed at how popular SK was. The lady on the other line informed that there was only 1 table left.

Anyways, we weren't expecting a corner table with the packed reservation so I was reali happy when we were given one. Drinks are ala carte but U can order ice water if you like. Food wise the spread was pretty ample

- Black pepper crabs
-mini buddha jump over the wall
-laksa
-chicken rice + roast duck
- indian fare of butter chicken, lentils, prata etc
- malay beef rendang, spicy french beans etc
- steamed fish
- carrot cake
- kueh kueh
-orh ni (yam paste)
-durian ice cream, mango sherbert
- fresh fruits
-otah
-sambla stingray
- and many more which I can't rem :p

Love the crab, soup and chicken + durian ice cream!

We parked out butts there from 630pm till 10pm and emerged with bulging tummies. We were so full that the mere sight of food made us wanna run in the opposite direction.

Hahaha

At S$41+++ per pax, some may argue that u can find yummier local fare at newton etc but coupled with the attentive and polite service of the service staff who clear your plates speedily and almost all of spore local fare to be found in 1 place, it's worth a try.

Note to make your reservation early. The place fills up fast.

Moi fave (alcoholic) drink of the moment.
The zesty lime margarita!

I had 4 glasses of this baby straight over a grilled seafood dinner. Love it!

Except, I dun reali like the salt that rimmed my glass. Think too much salt liao. Very 'giam' lah.

SoMEtimEs u juz HaD tO do whaT u Haf TO dO

Having this song on repeat mode after hearing it on the radio yday.

These couple of liners made me understand why some people did certain things just coz they had to.

也许用伤害结束爱才更动人...
容忍的人其实并不笨,只是宁可对自己残忍...
分得够狠你才有借口转身...
不能放任所以放了 这点痛我还能忍...

SeAfooD HuNgRy

Got hit by a bout of seafood cravings.

The last I indulge in a marine feast was last mth at Pariss Seafood buffet.

It was a discovery how great oysters taste when drizzled with lemon juice and godly Tabasco sauce.

Yums!

I wanna eat prawns and oysters!

Not meaNt FoR sPoRe RoaDs

I saw this vechicle on the roads at tomato land ydae.

The dream car of many (including me).

A hot yellow lambo

U could hear the roar of its engine even before u can see it. When it appeared and came to a halt at the traffic lights. For freaking ass unknown reason(s), the driver just had to reeve his engine to attract attention.

Then he started jerkily driving his horsepowered vechicle, coming to a halt at the many traffic lights ahead. Passerbys could all hear the vrrrroooom...screech...vrrrrooom...screech etc sounds.

It was extremely painful. I felt very embarrassed for the flashy driver.

It is a beautiful car. But it is not meant for the roads for Singapore lah. Frankly I likened it to buzzing bumble bee with it's wings clipped when it is driven on the traffic lights laden spore roads.

ViEt CuppA

Viet Coffee.

There's this new cafe place at Liang Court that serves Viet Coffee.

A few months back, one of the bf's colleagues returned from a working trip to Vietnam and brought back instant sticks of the highly raved G7 Cappucino hazelnut flavoured coffee.

He nicked 2 sticks for me and I was won over by the light frothy taste with a hint of nutty hazelnut.

See here for the complete range

Costing $6.90 for 20 sticks for the cappucino hazelnut, I just had to get a box to cart home.

We also had an espresso-like coffee (damn think but supposedly light on caffeine - which explains the bout of yawning after 9pm) and a free latte from the friendly staff.

Love the service, love the coffee there.

ThoSe WeRE The Days

Took a bus down to Bishan from Novena after a Wee Nam Kee chicken rice lunch (almost marred by a heavy sudden downpour) and it passed by the outskirts of my sec sch.

Brought back memories of our classroom which can be clearly seen/identified. I miss those days.

In fact I can honestly declare my sec sch period was da best of my whole academic years.

-going for prefectorial camp on an annual basis
-incessant crushes on prefectorial seniors and table tennis seniors, bb ball seniors
-getting a earful for talking too loud during guard duty in the morning by the VP
-tearing hair out over A Maths and all that gibberish
-going to Junction 8 and idle
-missing the damn bus home everytime I am halfway across the overhead bridge
-hiding hefty textbooks under the table
-copying homework
-mugging for O levels

and many assorted adventures

I would love to turn back time n don the 'foolscape' paper uniform again.

2009

A belated Happy New Year 2009!!!!!!

It's weird but I don't seem to feel as though a new year has descended upon us.

Anyways, how did u usher in the NY?

Mingling with the crowds at Marina? Partying at Vivo or SBP? Or tucked up away from the hustle and bustle?

My NY eve was spent with a company lunchie at Jack's Place at Anchor point, followed by a trip of sorts to the bf's place.

We then met up with his pals for dinner at the awfully competitive Newtown Circus for sambal stingray (it was ultra spicy), garlic prawns, gong gong, la la and the works. The stall auntie also conveniently almost forgot to collect payment from us.

Mahjong fiesta up next where I finally learnt how to count my tiles. It was an enlightening session hahaha

Next up for the holidays: CNY!
