Oh So HuMaN

Whisky is soooooo human-like...

This lil 'brother' of mine display actions that make us feel he is so freakily human.

HE SLEEP ON THE BED... WITH HIS HEAD ON THE PILLOW
This cutie sure knows the full use of pillow. Rests his lil head on the pillows on my bed, my mum's or my bro's when he wants to drift off to dreamland or a nap.

HE LOVES MASSAGES
Yes, especially when we do light massages on his front and hind legs. He has a tendency to doze off when we massaged him and wil lie damn still for mins (not hours since massaging is hard work ya know?).

HE NEVER LOOKS AT US IN THE EYE WHEN WE SCOLD HIM
Just like a lil kiddo (though the kiddos of nowadays are pretty terrorising), he avoids our eyes when we scold him for peeing/pooing outta the papers. AND HE LOOKS DARN REMORSEFUL. awwwwwwwwwwwww~ (though he forgets it once we let him off -_-III)

HE LOVES TO WATCH THE CARS FROM THE 10TH FLOOR WINDOW OF MY FLAT
Yep, this particular hobby of his is very alike my bro. He (my bro) loves to watch the vehicles roll by when he was much much younger. I like to tease how alike whisky and him are. (Shall elaborate more in the next entry to come).

HE KNOW HOW TO ACT CUTE TO WIN PEOPLE'S HEART AND AVOID PUNISHMENT
Very sneaky boi. Works like 99.9% of the time.

HE LOVES TO SNACK
Treats never fail to send him on a tail wagging frenzy. Mi am a snack queen too :p

Love the furball :)

BrEaK In

My office got broken in ydae nite...

Was the first to reach office this morning and the lower floor door was left ajar (my office is located at those under conservation 2-storey shophouses) instead of the usual closed. Unlocked the main door, turned off the security alarm and made my way to the 2nd storey.

The door to the 2nd storey was locked as usual but the lock part/knob of the door was chipped (as if someone used some kind of screw etc to jab and chip it). Walked into office and didn;t find anything amiss.

My boss came in minutes later and suspected the office got broken into coz of the chipped lock/knob of the door. True enough, one of the windows on the lower floor was opened! OMG!

Thankfully, nothing was stolen.

Scary sia~~~~~~

The incident reminds of a burglar who broke into my neighbour's flat years ago. This neighbour of mine (his unit is the nearest to the life landing) had a dog (which barks at strangers AND neighbours EVERYTIME THEY WALK PAST THE UNIT) and its barks often jolt us in shock.

On the fateful day, the dog was leashed to some chair or something and when the burglar got in, it barked at him of course but to no avail since the dog was leashed and of no threat. The burglar happily helped himself to a laptop and some cash stashed away in one of the rooms.

All this while THE OWNER OF THE FLAT WAS SLEEPING IN THE MASTERBED ROOM.

YES. DUE TO THE DOG'S INCESSANT BARKING AT ANYONE, he did not find anything suspicious or abnormal when doggie barked its head off.

Lesson learnt: Train your dog well.

Anyway, makes sure your doors are all locked securely and do not throw caution to the wind. Low crime doesn't mean no crime.

ViStA & mPhOsIs

My head is swimming (or maybe drowning's a better word) with my new comp and Windows Vista.

After years of facing XP, the sudden switch to Vista (my old comp retired due to the lack of RAM) is making my internet/all other computer applications life mind boggling and diffcult.

To be honest, I am every bit the comp techno phobic so....

CAN ANYONE HELP ME??????

Thankfully, the situation is not that bad (except all my 400 odd emails are still floating around somewhere) :p

Am suffering from a dizzy head, swimming eyes and work piling up higher and faster than you can shour 'OMG!'

*pulls hair *

---------------------------------------------------------------

I need to blog to calm my frazzled nerves...

Caught Ghost Rider over the weekend and it will be reviewed at chummycheryl very soon once I settled and sort out my comp (and work).

Went on a mphosis spree with their 50- 70% sale on since last Fri. To-date I have gone on a whirlwind shopping therapy at their outlets at PS, Ngee Ann City and Citylink. Amassing a bag, a clutch/wristlet and assorted tank tops. Not to mention a red alert bank account statement at the end of the guilt-trip.

BUT

With such irresisitable discounts... How could any level headed lady not fall into a frenzy???

WoRMiNG tHE bOokWoRm

The bookworm in me surfaced late last nite...

Was talking to bro on the books we read when we were younger and all of a sudden, I just felt like digging em all up again to read/flip thru (pardon, those books were like for pri sch kiddos).

I love reading and love losing myself in bookstores of yesteryear such as EPB bookshop and Times. Here some books that were a staple while I was growing up.

Enid Blyton

She was the JK Rowling of yesteryears man...

I read so many/amassed of her titles that if you were to stack the books up it will probably reach ceiling high.

My personal faves include those hard cover books with short stories in em (can still find at Popular Bookstore), Mr Meddles Muddle (about a very kaypoh, long nosed and klutzy man), Malory Towers (girls' high school story series), The enchanted forest, duno wat magical-can-fly chair, Famous Five (adventure stories about 5 children and their dog) blah blah...

Bookworm Short Stories were also darn hot. Each book was priced like 5 dollars (soft paper cover) AND I go crazy when there's the bookworm club peeps coming to school and selling em. Gosh! I was even a member of Bookworm Club and wrote avid fan letters to them! Haha... My fave character was Louie in the series. I tot he was pretty cute :p

But my most faved author was R.L. Stine. I adore the twisted style of writing with surprises/shocks at every chapter and book. It influenced the way I write. Fear Street and Goosebumps series of books dominated much of my sec sch reading days.

I also love buying tons of those lil books at Times Bookshop (retailed at around 2 dollars max per book years ago). Those books were like 1 pg pic and 1 pg words, makes reading a breeze man~

Now I am infatuated with Stephen King's series of short novels compilation. Just bought Night Shift recently from Borders coz the exact same one I bought years ago was in tatters and I love Night Shift the most from the short novels.
How about you?

So pissed for her...

Do not shoulder all blame
It's not your fault
He doesn't own you
You own him nothing
Why should you?

wHy So CrOWded

So packed...

It's no wonder on a day such as Vdae, all couples simultaneously decided to have mass dinners at western/oriental and other more ex/up market places. Resulting in long anaconda-like queues, angry faces, feet stamping, and tensed atmosphere.

The restaurants were like overflowing with people and YET MORE PEOPLE ARE STILL JOINING THE QUEUES! Wonders never cease doesn't it :p

Anymore, thank god we made reservations at Jack's Place ydae (though the BF was still made to wait for like 20-30 mins; imagine those who didn't reserve *horrified*, no need to dine le). All the tables were full and some were like seated just a finger spacing apart lor. Thank heavens, we got a table by the corner with ample breathing space and privacy *heng*

The meal itself was like over a hundred buckeroos and the food was pretty much average. Probably quality fell with the terrible crowd and many many hungry tummies.

After dinner, we strolled in the mall for awhile before hopping the train back home. BF bought me this cute lil red kitty and heart figure sweetly nestled in a very SWEET precious moments box filled with (my fave) hershey's kisses! Thanks dear!!!!!!

It was lovely!

*paiseh, was too busy stuffing our faces to take pics :P

Ants have been mysteriously appearing on my desk on and off. To-date I have killed/squashed/sweep off like over 30 ants le. Where did they come from?????????

Happy St. Valentine's Day to all!!!!!!!!!!!!

VdAy fLoWeR poWeR

St. Valentine...

Yes, the day where you see girls/ladies holding on to (big) bouquets of flowers ranging from lilies to roses on the streets. Youngsters peddling stalks of roses to guys walking arm in arm with the lady loves etc.

A lovey dovey day that has gotten too commercialised (in the words of many). Restuarants start pushing out their romantic (and ex) candle-lit dinners, overpriced flowers double to quad-tripling in prices, chocs vendors etc luffing all the way to bank.

Isn't everydae supposed to be St. Valentines day????

Well, it's hard to admit but girls being girls, ladies being ladies, we may hardened ourselves to the visuals of blissful fellow female friends and colleagues receiving romantic gifts from the other half and vehemently deny we are red-eyed but deep within us we do wish our other half will remember to shower us (not necessary material) gifts like giving us more attention on this special day.

Hence, although I am not a flower person, I do like to share with all my frens (excluding my bf who should know this already) on the 2 (only) types of flowers I love (though not exactly what I will like to receive coz I think they are too ex and cut-throat sold on V day!).

The bright cheery Sunflower

I think it's darn lovely and brightens up any damper mood any day and time with its fresh sunny yellow petals and big fuzzy choc brown centre. A field of sunflowers is like a field of happy rays :)

The elegant champagne rose

Now, this pic is not as lovely as seeing this pretty rose in real. I think the champagne coloured rosies are darn pretty (yes, even much so than the conventional red and pink ones). They will look lovely for weddings *dreaming*
What's your fave flower/s?
And dear, dun worrie. I am not hinting to you to buy me flowers.

My 24th bdae celebration with my bunch of wacky girlies...

Met-up with my sec sch girlies last fri as they held a yummlicious bdae celebration for me. We had the dinner at the very nice Fish & Co glass house and ordered lotsa seafood!

After stuffing our face full and talking till we almost went hoarse, we procceed for some sweet desserts and more yakking at TCC at plaza singapura. Indulged in mocha shakes, oreo cheese cakes and other divine stuff.

They also surprised me with a choc cake and sang bdae songs in 3 different languages namely eng, chinese and cantonese. The cantonese one made me luff till I tear. :p

It was close to 11am before we shared cab home. Along the way, this weird uncle on a motorbike keep on looking into our cab when our cab and his bike stopped side by side at a traffic light along novena. It was so funni and how 'brave' he was to stare so intently and outrightly into our cab.

Will upload pics of the nite when my frens send me the stuff :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Attended a full month celebration...

It was held in honour of my cousin's new born baby girl named Belinda. The lil one was such a sweetie who allows all to carry her without shedding tears. Her lil fingers and toes were so cute! Plus she has a headful of soft black her. So adorable!!!!!!!!!

Dressed in baby pink with matching pink muffins, everyone was going gaga over the lil princess.

My cousin also ordered and gave every guest a sweet box of pastries and 2 red eggs. Very nice! She ordered it from: www.sweetestmoments.com.sg.

Babies are realli the sweetest angels man...

BaSiL aLcOVe LunChie

Went Basil Alcove for lunch at my colleagues recommendation.

It's a really nice place for quality pasta at affordable prices! I am quite an anti-cream pasta person favouring tomato based ones but the mixed mushroom penne in cream sauce won me over. It is not overly cloy and reali light on the tastebuds. I was practically relishing every drop of it :P

For just $8.80 you get the set lunch for the mixed mushroom pasta, soup of the day and a drink. Pretty reasonable prices doncha tink? Plus the food is really good and not of slip slop standards. *thums up*. Try it! It's at Fortune centra at middle road just opposite NAFA and 5 mins walking distance from Bugis.

Meeting up my goood ole sec sch girlies for dinner later. *Happi*

PeRSiAN

My bf sent me home close to 1130pm last night and guess what adorable fluff we saw at the corridors?

A persian kitty which looks 99% like the above pic except he has more prominent black and white fur. The lil 6 months old furball belongs to one of neighbours (who's a massive cat lover with like 5 adult persians and many other kittens at home!).
They used to have the regal looking Ragdolls but now only persians at home. The cute lil thing was named Phua Chu Kang (?!) and has a bright yellow collar and gold bell on it's lil neck. Reali cuteeeeeeeee and totally not afraid of humans. In fact, he even loves/make friends with dogs!
My neighbour sold off some of the kittens born for $150 each and personally I feel the price is darn reasonable. Reali tempted to bring one home but the mum will NEVER allow another pet I suppose :(
Hope to see the kitty again then can show mum and make her fall in luv with it. :P
CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The lovelies:

This one was out of stock but fate made us mit again (and in my arms). It's bronze in colour with a snazzy bronze belt.

Recently my hunger pangs have gone on an overdrive, and basically anything and everything edible makes me drool and my tummy rumble.
Brekky is usually a missed affair as I cant swallow much in the early morning save for a cuppa coffee but these past few days were an exception.
Had Mac sausage muffin and coffee (a few times - Mac is only opposite my office), Mr Bean's hot soyabean milk drink and peanut pancake (I love the cute chubby mascot) and was actually pinning/lemming for donuts but told myself to curb it with tea.
Spoke to my colleague this morning and she informed that there's beehoon at the nearby Ah Mei Kaya toast place and it's only 70 cents!!!!!!!!!
Gosh, I was like so hungry after listening to her and if my tummy remains bottomless tomorrow, I will be settling into my work desk with beehoon in the morning :P

SwImmIngLy yUmMi FiSh

Phew! Finally...

Got ALL the draft copy for the major project done! Well, at least tentatively till the next round of changes and advertorials come in. *Breathe*

Can let my over-saturated head take a rest and destress for the moment. And what a better way than to blog? Haha...

Am in the process of creating 101 cool hairstyles for Whisky and will post up the pics when it's done. His hair/fur is really damn gd at sculpting zany/wacky/funky hairstyles and always leaves me and all spectators in tears (from laughing too hard). In fact, his hair/fur can be styled in more ways then mine!

Recently I haven fallen in love with eating fish. In fact I have always loved eating fish but due to decreased number of times eating home and all, most of the meat I consumed was chicken. Hence, made a point to remind mum to steam (my fave) sea bass whenever I am home for dinner. And that's what I had for dinner ydae! Yummlicious yum! The meat was tender and the accompanying sauce was darn good when poured over rice. Gosh, I am craving for it right now!

If I was given a choice to decide what meat I will have to eat for the rest of my life, I will with no hesitation say it will be fish!!!!!!! Yum, I like steam/fried white promfret, fried black promfret, flatfish, sardines in tomato sauce, monkey fish, dory fillet, maguro, salmon, yellow tail etc etc.

Must make sure mum buys a huge sea bass to steam for CNY!

SuPer DuPer StReSsEd

SUPER STRESSED!!!!!!

Got this major project coming on full steam ahead and will probably leave me in a frenzy, chip nails, dark eye rings and dishelleved hair for the next few months till April. HELP!

Was so busy yday writing out the copy and rummaging my hair into a mess at my desk that I had NO time to blog at all . Even my colleague commented that my hair is messy :p

I will TRY MY DARNEST best to complete most of the copy today coz there's still other copy piling up! *Argh!*

On a more soothing note, dear sweet generous Christel took me out for a Jap all-you-can-eat buffet at Hanabi Restuarant within walking distance from Raffles City after work as an advanced bday treat. Thanks girl! *big big smile*

We had many plates (but not as many as we would have liked) of Maguro, Salomon, Octopus, Yellow Tail sashimi, 2 Chwanmushi each, 2 skewer platters of shishamo, chicken and shitake mushrooms, Tuna belly handrolll, beef, udon, tempura, unagi blah blah. Nice but darn full haha...

If only we could stomach more, I think I would have gone for another 5 plates or so of maguro sashimi. It's my fave! Tuna belly's nice too :p

We also bitched and shared horror stories while tucking in and drinking cups of warm water and hot green tea. I hope the couple sitting beside us wasn't spooked by our conversation. Haha

Okay, enough blogging for now. Back to racking my brains, pouring over press releases. Urgh!

p/s: Hanabi doesn't allow you to take photos of the food or share the buffet items.
