Reeling...

My head is reeling from some photography concepts which I wanna try out over the weekend. Hope the shots will turn out well and as close as to what I had imagined :p

The trip to AMK Garden was a total dissapointment. Wanted to get some 'green' shots but there was no inspiration and the lily pad pond was utterly dirty and littered with rubbish. Yucks.

I caught sight of a squirrel and wanted to capture a shot but the cute bushy critter sped off and climbed up a tree within seconds when I bought my camera out -_-III

Wanted to capture some shots on spiders and their dew drops decorated webs but there was none. The only webs I saw were either torn n dusty looking or has no spider on it. Then, I wanted to take cute pics of family and children having a stroll in the garden but I onli chance upon noisy teenagers making a nuisance of themselves at the swings. -_-IIIIII

Went home with shots of the candy pink sky and some general shots of the trees. Waste of my time. I should have just stayed home and take pics of my potted plants instead. Thankfully I wasn't bitten by any mozzies while I was there. *phew* With all the dengue rage now, it's better to have repellent on you while at the parks or gardens.

Been shopping online recently and bought 2 tops at cheap cheap prices. One from F21 and the other from Wetseal! *woohoo!*

I love shopping online but the rule is not to buy jeans/bottoms online since it's hard to estimate the size. I have a pair of authentic levi's skinnies* in very dark blue/black for sale. Tagged a size 29. I love it but damn the size is wrong :( Anyone interested? Letting go at onli $43 with post. *see pic below

So In PaiN

I am in pain...

After my hair/fringe was subject to cruelty that is unpleasant to sight, I am now in immense pain (sorta) with the huge ass ulcer and nagging pain at the back of the left ankle.

Utterly huge ulcer developed after I bite a particular area of tender pink flesh in my mouth not once, not twice but thrice! The ulcer surfaced after the 2nd accidental bite while I was wolfing down lunch and just yesterday morning while I has enjoying bee hoon courtesy of my generous and sweet colleague, I got too engrossed and happily bit into that yellowish and white ulcer AGAIN!

&^$@! PAINFUUUUUUUUUUL!

I am now being extra x 10000 times careful not bite into it again or risk inflicting sharp pain shooting through my mouth and having my face screwed up into a tight ball of undistinguishable features...

The pain at the back of my ankle was probably due to rheumatism brought on my a sprain that occured some 12 years ago. Being young and ignorant, I did not take care of the sprain/ankle well and am now 'reaping' the pyschic weather predictor in it. Whenever it is going to rain, the affected area will start to protest in the form of excruciating pains.

But the one yesterday occurred even though the weather was hot as hell. Maybe it is screwed up somehow...

Feel like popping painkillers...

My MaNgLeD fRiNGe

I need a paperbag/plastic bag...

to cover my head

Had a haircut ydae while waiting for the BF and the result especially the fringe was disasterous.

It is now TOO SHORT!!!!!!

I look like a 'gong gong kia' -_-III

*WAILS*

Was feeling downright sucky when I caught my yucky reflection in the mirror after the deed was done and scurried home only to have mum commenting unmercilessly how short the fringe was yadda yadda yadda...

As if I wasn't feeling lopusy enough...

When I meet the BF I had already anticipated how he will react. True enough, he could not contain his 'amusement' at my new look and was teasing me till I was practically scowling.

Scowling + short fringe = not pretty

*sigh* Am waiting for the fringe to grow quickly~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Had also chopped my hair to a shorter length (to be precise about 3 inches) as it was tooooooo long and toooooooooo dry at the ends. It's just the damn fringe that sucks! Am sooooo not going back to that salon. It was my 2nd time there as the 1st visit left a pretty good impression on me.

Had a hunch the cut will not turn out well halfway thru the time I was there as the hairstylist who was doing my hair was sorta a lil pissed off with his lady boss who reprimanded him for leaving certain things in the wrong places.

To ah beng hairstylist: Want to be pissed with your boss can lah but pretty please do not take it out on my crowning glory mah... hmmmph!

My StAr

I have fallen in love with...

Patrick Star!!!!!!! The famour blur sotong or starfish on Spongebob Square Pants cartoon series!
From R to L: squidwart, patrick and spongebob

I am so obessessed that I bought a clone of him online just yesterday! He is pinkishly irresistible and thick in the head till it's so cute! Yes, I do find him cuter than spongebob.
Gosh! You mean I have a fan?

I am looking to buy this chubby fellow in the above design but to no avail. I just can't get enough of him!!!!!

How often do you find a creature in underpants cute (save for those CK underwear models)?

Adorable beyond words *swoon*

The games of the good old school years...

Was having a chat with my colleagues post lunch and we had a laughing fit digging out those memories we had while in school and the various games we played during our youth. Looking back, at that time we had no tech advanced PSPs, gameboys or computer games. Games were made from using chalk to draw on the ground, rubberbands tied together to make long sturdy ropes and cheap 20 cents a piece erasers.

During my pri school days, games such as poison ball (for boys), hopscotch and zero point (for girls) were played almost everytime during recess time. Students will be divided into their cosy cliques and gobble up their lunch pronto to leave ample time to play.

Poison ball is played whereby a ball (ie. soccer ball, basketball or a ball made from rolls of scotch tape bundled up in a ballish shape) is used to thrown/kick at one another. You got to avoid getting hit my the 'poison' ball or risk getting 'poisoned' and eliminated. The boys always have a ball of a time (pun intended) playing this judging by the screams/shouts and perspiration soaked uniform during recess and when they returned to class.

The boys also loved buying 20 cents a piece erasers from the school bookshops printed with the flags of different countries and play this 'eraser battle' game. Usually played by 2 parties, each one take a piece of eraser with their desired country and start flipping the piece over towards their rival's piece. The piece which succeeded by flipping ontop of the rival's piece wins. As simple as that.

Girls on the other hand love playing the hip hoppity hopscotch. Using simple tokens like one's own coin purse/pencil/stone/tissue, each hopper takes turn to throw and aim the token into the desired numbered boxes to progress accordingly and hop to victory. A talent for balance and springy feet is much valued to win here.

The other game girls (and some guys) love was zero point. Using and elastic rope made from rubber bands, there are many level to jump over such as ground level (easiest), ankle level, below pocket level, waist level, ear level and head level. With each level getting higher and higher and of course more and more diffcult.

Yours truly being 'blessed' with stumpy short legs could never jump pass the head level without the aid of using a finger to press the rope down a little. Oh, and when you jump for the below pocket level, your self cannot touch the rope at all. Tough man! No wonder I suck at standing broad jump and could never master the frog style!

The game also involve using your leg to tie the rope (which is held by 2 persons at each end) around that same leg for a few rounds, do a miss-tie and it will snap against your skin which can hurt pretty badly. It stings *ouch*

It was really fun with the company of friends I had at that time. We just shrieked and laugh to our heart's content.

In comparison, the kids of nowadays are keeping their fingers busy with tech handheld games and getting myopic with all the straining of eyes. Are cheap good games no longer have a place in society or appreciated?

BarK of aPpRoVaL

And they say dogs are man's best friend...

Loyal, trusting, protective and all forgiving. Yes, I do agree.

My lil bundle of fur has add much life and happiness since his little paws pitter and patter in my house. Up to mischevious antics and coupled with his silly and innocent ways, he has since been the apple of the family and my much beloved youngest 'sibling' ;p

Was home the whole of today as the BF was away at work and a gathering with some friends. Tuition was cancelled so I 'nuah' the whole day today and enjoying every moment eating and sleeping. Haha...

Could not resist snapping pics of the little one... Enjoy
are you taking a pic of me?? Again??
I need to rest my neck after all these 'photoshoots'

I am tired~

Don't think I do not know you are aiming the cam in my face hor~

Could not care less... I am too sleepy~ *snooze*
p/s: the little spoilt furball is leaning against my mum in front of the fan snoozing -_-III

No TiXs

No NDP 07 tixs this year...

Much lesser seats and overwhelming response for this yr's tix to the Nation's birthday held at Marina Bay. Despite sending in smses for all members in the family and BF, I wasn't as lucky to get my hands on a pair of tixs.

I cannot explain my enthusiasm for going and seeing the parade live. In fact since Sec3 to JC yr 2, I had been to the parade held at The National Stadium (bidding farewell on the 30th June). I love mixing with fellow passionate citizens, watching the magnificant fireworks and the red lions soaring in the sky with their vibrant parachutes.

The only thing I hate? Going back home after the parade is a big squeeze factor and seeing the stadium littered with empty mineral bottles, wrappers, tissues etc. How inconsiderate we can be huh? Pluck our butts after a celebration and leave everything in a mess. Pretty ironic.

Anyway, this yr's parade will be held at Marina Bay (nearer and more accessible) but sadly, yours truly can't go. Was hoping to take lovely pics for this yr's parade but my hopes are dashed. :(

*sigh*

BuRnT

What a scorching day it was yesterday! Got sunburnt like a lobster now :p

Feel like standing in the middle of this structure and allow the gushes of cool streams of water hit on my hot burnt skin.... aaaaaaaa~

Suntec's famed Fountain of Wealth

Looks like water doesn't it? It is actually digitally created in the new wing at Suntec shopping centre. Pretty pretty~

And here's the pictorial evidence of the buzzing bees hovering outside my unit...
The red brick wall~

The bees looking to come home again~ The dead corpses that mum and whisky whacked

Was THeRE aLL aLoNg

I found my 'missing' contact lens...

It had actually slid all the way up my eyeball and hid undectected in the corner of my upper eye lid. To think I had no idea and did not feel anything amiss. Honestly, no discomfort at all! Was gently rubbing my eye when suddenly that piece of thin plastic just fell out of my eye. *shiver* What would happen if I never realised it and it just stayed up and hidden till god knows when???

scary~

Went to AMK hub with the BF to get our new contacts made. Am trying out new monthly disposables :)

Another wave of work building up. I hope I don't drown~

---------------------------------------------------------------

some zany and a sane pics taken at the Botanic Gardens last week:

Posing and smiling properly~ Love the warm sun glow

We started to go wacky!

Look at that smug look on the BF's face...

WheRe's MY cOnTaCt

One of my contacts actually slipped out of my eye while I was talking to my colleague.

Could not find it and am a one-eye jack now. Blurred vision in my right eye. Great!

Now am looking to switch to monthly disposables instead of perm lenses... So uncomfy to work with one lens only...Arrrgh!

Can only take comfort in the fact that it is about time I need to change my lenses. The hassle of being myopic... *sigh*

BuSY bEeS

Want to be a bee?

My mum and Whisky is having a whacking good time whacking bees almost every afternoon for the past 3 days...

For some unknown reasons, 'lost' bees have been buzzing into our flat after their hive was wiped out by the pestbusters called in my our neighbours. Every year, a colony of black bees will swarm and make their hive in this little hole near the brick wall of my block which happens to be just on our level.

Even though the pestbusters were called in everytime to seal up the hole/spray some strong insecticide to drown/expel em, the bees still come back. Frankly, I do not really mind them as long as dun suddenly start swarming into a cloud of buzzing bees or fly/intrude my flat.

Sad to say, a bunch decided to do just that hence my mum wipped out her trusty cardboard beater and starting whacking them one by one. She feels a sense of satisfaction when she hears the 'whack' sound and see their limp bodies albeit with the sting still attached lying on the floor. Whisky on the other hand loves biting at the fallen ones or jumping at flying ones and seems to have zero fear of the stings.

He will bite bite them and leave them covered in his saliva. Yuck!

So the record was like 62 bees killed by the fearsome twosome. The previous day was 30 plus and the previous previous day was 20 plus. Hmmmm....that's ALOT of stray bees!

Forget about my bro joining in the fight. He is terrified of bees and beetles for that matter. :P

Sashimi cravings...

Yesh, was chatting to Christel on MSN and she has rekindled my craving for sashimi...

Now I am fantasising about sinking my teeth into the tender flesh of raw fish lightly spiked in light soya sauce and wasabi... *hungry*

My all-time fave: the magnificant maguro!

The classic salmon

The newly addiction: yellowtail

I can just eat plate after plate of these delicacies from the sea. I love my slices of raw fish! And there's this place where I can gorge on these at an unlimited buffet near Cty Hall Mrt.
Hanabi Restaurant and Sake Bar !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Christel first introduced me the place when she gave me a bday treat there this year. Lovely lovely (except no photography in the restaurant). At $30 plus per pax for dinner buffet, it's pretty reasonable (but no soft shell crab wor).
Try it for youself at:
331 North Bridge Road (S) 188720, #01-04 Odeon Towers, Tel: 6338-6626Opening hours: 11.30am to 2.30pm, 6 to 10.30pm
I wanna go there like pronto! *screeaaaaaaaaam*

I HeARt tHE bOtAniC gArDenS

Fauna Flora Fantasic!

Was done at the Botanic Gardens on Saturday with the BF.

And it was definitely NOT boring at all!

We had a lovely time oohing and aahing at the flowers, huge ass and weird looking turtles/tortises, lily pads, 2 gracious swans and even the pigeons there. The BF was busy snapping pics on his Canon Ixus camera (jealous!) while I try not to be green-eyed or sulky and snap some pics on my 1 plus megapixel hp cam :(

Forget to charge my digi cam. Must go to the Gardens again and take my fill of pics. I had this perfect pic of a very cute and posey squirrel but too bad my hp cam can't capture it's full glory (and cuteness). The BF wasn't able to get a gd shot of the creature coz it started to climb really fast up the tall tree after I was done snapping it.

Damn!

The trip there sure beats squeezing with the crowds and walking aimlessly down the aisles in shopping centres. :p

I rather be out there with nature (save for the 4 mozzie bites I got).

I wanna go there again soooooooooon!

*pics will be uploaded soon once I get from the BF.

The active baby taking a break from play~

He is definitely not camera shy :p

Sweeeet white chocs!

Healthy green tea chocs!

Orange and brandy chocs! Lovely mix

All the chocs hail from the land of the rising sun. Hope Spore will bring in the orange and brandy ones. It's really yummi!
Thanks christel! Had to take pics to preserve the lovelies!

eYe On yOu

Was chatting with the BF over the phone last night and things are fine now :)

Will be meeting him later after work to collect his new specs and dinner. Which reminds me that I may need to get a pair to so I need not put on my contacts every work day and give my peepers a break...

Have already taken a liking to particular pair from Nanyang Optical the other day while I was there with the BF but too bad low on cash so cannot buy. Not to mention my degree is like sky high so the cost of making super thin lenses will no doubt add up to a hefty bill. Any kind hearted sponsers out there? :p

Made me wish I could turn back the clock to when I was spec-free in my under-ten years of age. Should have cultivate better eye care and banish lying-down-to-read-book habits. Hai...

Now am firm friends with specs and contact lenses (for vainty sake).

Am so envious of vision perfect friends that I am toying with the idea of Lasik but am afraid of the risks esp it comes to the windows of the soul. *nervous*

Anyone had ever done Lasik before? Do share :)

cOugH cOUgh CoUGh

It's a matter of COMPROMISE...

when two people get together. To tolerate one another's not-very-pleasant habits etc at times.

I can understand if one can't stand the other party's nose picking habits/smoking/nail biting and other 'controllable' ways

BUT

to control one's cough when one is sick?

Excuse me? How to control? Swallow back the itchy wave of cough and incur internal turmoil?

What nonsense.

How can you tell me I should not hold back my coughs and yet at the same time ask and BLAME me for coughing and making you want to cough too?

RUBBISH.

How about the next time you have a stomach upset and I tell you not to go to the toilet coz it's making me feel like making a trip to the loo too?

You will probably yell that it is beyond your control and you did not want to have a tummy upset at all.

So please you think I want to cough so much? You think I cough so that I can make you cough too?

I will not TOLERATE such nonsenses thrown at me.

I will cough all I want coz I am feeling unwell and am down with a cough and sore throat.

*cough**cough**cough**cough**cough**cough*

If such a thing gets on your nerves so easily. How could we ever live together?????????

siCk

Attack of the sore throat and flu monster...

My immunity level has hit rock bottom. Was on MC ydae due to the incessant chills and feeling all hot and bothered brought on by an itchy sore throat and dripping mucus laden nose :(

Slept for like 3/4 of the day that even whisky found it weird why I did not play with him, kiss and cuddle him. Did not want to spread the germs to the furball. The BF called a couple of times to check on me. *feel loved* Thanks dear :)

Am back the office armed with pkts of strepsils, lozenges and antibiotics. Had a sandwich (left over from brekky) and a hot barley (really dun feel eating at all - all I want is to sink into my bed). Still feel sick.

Last night was horrible. Went to back feeling chilled hence threw on a thick blanket with the fan off. Then I woke up in the middle of the night at some unearthly hour and started shivering uncontrollably. Managed to drift off to sleep while shivering and woke up this morning to a damn cloudy sky.

I hate being sick :*(

MoNdAY

Muscles are aching from being a couch potato/slacker for too long.

My nose feels sore. My throat feels weird. I think I am going to be sick.

Had only a slice of cake and tea for lunch. Do not feel like eating.

Encountered an incident that almost caused me to hit my head real hard on my desk.

Like to thank my bro for helping me to solve it. Thanks bro!

Now I just want six o'clock to strike soon. Very soon.

cHEep ChEaP

Was down at Bugis/Waterloo street's OG and nagged a rock bottom dirt cheap bikini from Triumph for only...

............ $9.90!

*pinch myself* Am I dreaming????????

It was further reduced to a grand total of $8.30 after one of my colleagues has the OG Card and gotten another 10% off for me. Thanks!

Lovely lovely *skips lightly*

Wanted to get a full swimsuit also but it a tad more ex at $29.90 but no more my size :(

No nice tankinis, if not I would have snapped it up too :p

Okay, enough of my swim wear escapades.

--------------------------------------------------------

Caught Shrek The Third on Wed and it was great! Do visit chummycheryl for my review (or hold your finger on the mouse if you are going to watch it coz I revealed quite abit there in my blog).

Damn hilarious and I was laughing hard while balancing my subway wichies and munching on it (had no time for dinner at a proper table coz had rushed to J8 after my tuition) while the BF had a fillet-o-fish meal :)

Had to book tixs online since it was newly released and snaking queues will have formed at the box office if we were to get ours after work. I love watching animated movies i.e. shrek, finding nemo, cars, chicken run, TMNT etc etc.

There's even Transformers coming up and Simpsons (in 2D) too!!!!!!!!!

Duh~!

Hahahaha... Had a very sleepy Vesak Day ydae *winks at BF*

For some weird reason, the both us were like damn tired as we trudged from Chinatown to Town. Wanted to doze off in the cinema but no shows worth watching and the only good one -Zodiac was filling fast. We than went to Tonkichi for (very filling) dinner, took a walk down the stretch of Orchard to deflate our bursting at the seams tummy before hopping onto bus 132 home.

And now it's Fri! Woo hoo!

TGIF!
