My NeW SpEcS

The lenses of my specs fell out ceremoniously one after the other a couple of months ago.

I was left specs-less and dependent upon my contact lenses till I finally mustered my lazy bones to pop down to the resident optician to be prescribed a new pair ydae.

With a sky high degree of 850/750, I am pretty concerned about the thickness of my lenses.

I hope my new specs turn out ok. I don't want to cause an eruption of hysterics when I don them.

I am never a morning person.
I choose to sleep till well past noon on weekends if I can. My usual meepok dry noodles will swell this twice their size when I finally stumble out of my slumber and have it for brunch.

Neither am I a late night person.
My body clock shuts down at mid-nite sharp. And I take on the form of a glazed living thing with my mind up in the clouds and sheeps.

Am I an afternoon person?
Not exactly. I love to take naps in the afternoon.

Basically, I love to sleep and snooze.

I just realised at the grand time of 4.20pm that I left this blog entry hanging in mid-air since early noon (hence u can see the noon time clocked at the bottom of this entry).

Was planning to blog but I couldn't. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

Simply coz yours truly only slept for 3hrs ydae as was ploughing through the nite ydae in da office.

I think I should surgically attached myself to my phone.

I almost wanted to slap, shake and rattle her.

Was walking briskly after work home through AMK Hub in a bid to reach home in doubly quick time so I can start planning what I was going to wear 2nite.

On my arm was a super big Little Match Girl shopping bag as I had bought 2 pairs of shorts from an outlet near my workplace (which is not AMK). I was busy weaving in and out of the after work crowd and I felt someone getting close and laid a hand on my shopping bag.

I thought it was a friend or mayb an accquaintance of sort.

But it was a stranger. An auntie.

And she whispered as she stopped me in my tracks while placing her lingering hand on the shopping bag.

"Can you give mi the receipt if you do not want it, so i can exchange it for (duno wat)"

I replied (stil recovering from my confusion): "I did not get it from AMK Hub"

"But isn't this Little Match Girl?"

I got pissed (stil dare argue/question me): "I did not get it from the AMK outlet. I got it from the outlet near my workplace."

And then she slunked away.

WTF!

I mean it's okie if random strangers want a receipt that I have no use for but I was reali a lil worked up from the way she stil dare to question me as if i lied to her abt my origin of purchase.

Total hell! I am not obligated to give u anyth k.

I have a fren's wedding coming up on thurs and I have zlich idea wat to wear.

I have a hk trip coming up early next mth and I haven gotten my luggage yet.

Recharging.

ReAD mE LiKe An Open BooK

It was like a long-lost pal reunion of sorts.

Recently when I was going thru an emo down of sorts.

I went back into the warm embrace of a neglected pal.

My novels.

Yes. My familiar pillar of support where I lose myself from the realities of life and stepped into a world of fantasy, horror, mystery and light-hearted humor.

Currently, I am wrapped up snugly with Stephen King in 'The Shinning'.

Bought a super thick (& heavy) book containing 4 of his full length stories like months ago but never got down to reading it.

It is lovely. Am planning to get a couple more books to lose myself in.

Horrible Saturday it was.

But oh wat a sweet Sunday it was.

Plus I got a cheer bear.

What a weekend it was.

Wtf are the cabs ydae???

Super hard time calling for a cab after work ard 9 plus.

HelloOOoooo? Moi is like flunging my arms wildy to give $$ to cab drivers but there was no cab in sight who wanted to take my call. *screams*

-cues endless leisure music I put made to endure as I fidgeted for a cab to take my call-

Hopped on a 5mins bus ride to the mall to get a cab and it took mi like 10-15mins before a cabby decided to take my call n pick mi up.

Immediately after I got a cab, my hp went flat.

Then it had to pour like nobody's business.

Superb.

i CaN Do IT

I encountered an 'emotional low' ydae.

It juz hit me in the later half of the afternoon by surprise.

I have always loved to write. Knew I wanted to write. Writing is my motivation in life.

But due to some ding dongs in creative work recently, I was hit by this bout of self-doubt if I was really suited for this line or if I could really write.

I felt lost.

I wanted to cry (which i did).

I never felt anything like this before.

I din understand.

Then, I poured it out to frenz on msn and to the bf when I met him after work.

I am glad I found frenz I could share my 'unexplainable' emo-y mood and the bf for lending me his ears + shoulder.

Here's what I learnt to take heed and in my stride:

It's okie when people do not like your work. Every criticism is an encouraging handshake/pat on the back to improve your work. I should not allow my passion for my work to deflate without a worthy fight.

I will not allow myself to wallow in self-pity and what's not.

I will learn.

I will fight on.

Trooped off to Mind Cafe on Sat with bf and pals.

Played our fave game of dinosaur and bones. One of the girls was nursing a case of hoarse voice and as the game involves a lot of screaming and shouting (u need to swap cards with the other players to get a full set of cards of the same colour, and then take a bone. The other players upon seeing u grabbed a bone, has to follow suit. The person w/o a bone will be given a forfeit), she was barely audible.

What followed was hilarious comedy. Haha..

Boy, i love that game!
