A tRiP tO The DenTAL cHaiR

At one point in time, this was my greatest fear:

The (bloody) red clipboard in my pri sch daes.

Yesh, this seemingly harmless piece of plastic with an even innocent looking piece of white paper scribbled with 'victims' names on it.

This is the official warrent to a visit to the dentist to have your pearlies checked, scrubbed, digged, pulled and extracted. Occasionally u will have a cotton swab stuffed into your cheeks ala hamster style and lose some precious blood.

My blood turns cold when my name is called because:

1) The dentist at my pri sch is damn fierce

2) I hate gurgling my mouth after she cleaned my tooth coz i hate the rusty taste of blood

3) I hate it when she digs at my tooth with a scapel ( or duno wat) feels like she wanna yank every tooth out. U can practically see my legs stiffened like the tools she's using.

Hate it.

I still hate going to the dentist.

What's up the heat????

So hooooooooooooot lah...

Trying to think positive despite beads of persipiration rolling down my back in cramped train cabins and suffocating dusty roads.

Heat is good news for:

1) Speedy drying of laundry

2) Speedy drying of whisky's fur after his bath

3) Perfect for sun-tanning bedsheets etc... Time to exorcise those germs!

4) Enjoy ice-creams without the guilt

Been feeling hungry recently...

Ate like non-stop ydae when I got home. Watching telly eat. Doing work on the comp till the wee hours also eat.

Greedy me even spilt porridge (soaked in marmite of course) all over the kitchen floor. End result was only half a bowl left. -_-III

In the train. In the bus.

Overly enthusiastic about squeezing their 'lithe' self into the already spilling cabins and and buses. Nudging u rudely when it's obvious u already had 2 feet on the bus steps yet they still wanna play a game of 'gladiator'. -_-III

I wish I could grab them by the neck and shake em hard till their teeth rattles.

*smoke spewing out my ears*

Will it kill them to wait for the next train ( I can forgive the bus passengers as bus arrival time is freakingly unpredictable) which comes at like 2 mins interval during peak hours?

On the tube that is. No more korean dramas on Channel U 10pm slot.

LiFT mi Up

I just dun understand...

My train passes by Tanjong Pagar on a daily basis to work and unload cabins full of working professionals at this station. What got mi crinkling my forehead was the crowd waiting for the sole lift in the station.

Accurately, it will probably take like 2 -3 trips of the lift to clear the mass of passengers waiting at the lift. When there's the option of taking the stairs or escalator which will get one out of the station in half the time, the crowd of people still prefer to wait (2x) for the lift.

Why?

First caught the movie like over 3 years ago with the BF on one our dates at Lido. I still rem I was hysterically slapping his shoulder as we watched this comedy. It was that funni. (Not forgetting the uber uncomfy seats of one of the smaller Lido cinemas too).

tHe Train Will Be DeLayEd

Train fault.

Was affected by the yishun to marina bay train fault ydae. The train I was on stopped like 5 times along the way to Bishan Mrt station from AMK!

And along the way to Raffles Place it halted a couple of times. Was late for work for like half an hour, ruining my plans to grab a cuppa of teh before I stepped into the office :(

*sigh*

But I still love taking the trains to work.

I think I am going crazy~

Newsflash: Today's the last day to file your income taxes!!!!!!!

Sick AgAiN!

One of the WORST weekends I ever lived through.

Was down with the fever, cough, flu and sore throat 2 fridays back. And if that wasn't enough, a whole relapse of the above came back to take host in my body last Fri.

Started feeling the chills, aches and full blown fever turning in the wee hours on Fri morning. Called in sick reluctantly and spent the whole 24/7 of Fri in between hazy waking moments and deep sleep.

Blanketed myself as I was frozen even with the windows tightly shut. Whisky's wet nose felt like a sharp cold pierce. Mum had to carjoled him away from me. So sad.

Then in the morning, I had to drag my virus laden body to the doc and heck it was drizzling.

Collapsed when I got back. Forced 2 mouthfuls of food into my mouth, popped an assorted array of pills and back to shivering slumberland.

Felt a wee better on Saturday, only to turn hoarse on Sunday. WTH.

I conclude that air-con is my evil nemsis.

In other news, I received my dog's renewal license letter in the mail last week. Made mi smile amidst the sick genes I was emitting.

Look as if moi gender is a neutered male. This got my mum n bro in peals of laughter.

Mi? I think I injected some happi chemicals into my system :D

Phlegmy.

Yuck. I hate this masses of greenish yellow blops of monster curdling in the depths of my throat. Not only does it make mi sound like an ah pek spitting at the roadside bushes but also brings along major discomfort all day long from the moment I woke up till the moment I drop off to slumberland.

Urghhhhhhh....

The only way is to purge it out when I cough but sometimes at the most inconvenient of times, a major slice of this monster will ride up my throat and be on the verge of escaping my mouth. But because I have no tissue on me/in a meeting/got a hunk infront of me so dun wan to appear uncouth/ and other assorted reasons, I have no choice but to

swallow it back down my throat.

Mmmmm mArMiTe

I heart Marmite!

This black and yellow bottle of yummi goodness is paired best with plain teochew style porridge. Had a big spoonful of it mixed with my plain porridge after I got home ydae. So delicious!

It's been ages since I had tasted marmite and the craving was so strong as I fell sick recently that I dragged myself to Shop N Save and got a bottle. The taste is mixture of saltiness and absolute savory. *licks lips*

In fact, yours truly is drooling juz at the thought of it.

I wanna eat Marmite with plain porridge and nth else for dinner todae!

Tues RaMbLiNgS

Met up with the BF for dinner at Outram Park ydae.

Using swift steps, we headed for the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple as he wanted to make a visit there but we were a lil late as the temple closes its doors at 7pm. We reached the vicinity at 7pm sharp.

We then proceeded to Maxwell Market for a simple Teochew Porridge meal. The sky after setting our island scorching hot the whole decided to pour while we were tucking into our dinner. Thankfully, the rain came to a halt like half an hour later so we took a slow stroll to Central shopping mall and continued on foot to Raffles Mrt Station.

I think I probably worked off my dinner by the time I plonked myself on the cabin seats in the train hahaha....

My legs are aching....

To digress do u prefer to take the train or bus to work/school?

I used to be a bus lover before I graduated from Uni. I enjoy my bus rides (though i go green if the journey's too long and if the vehicle jerks like mad) as I get to enjoy aircomfort with scenery thrown in. Seats wise is a much better option than the face-to-face postions in the trains.

But as time goes by, I have come to appreciate the time savings of taking the speedy trains while travelling. I could reach home like in half the time of buses. Not to mention the jams on the roads deter me from taking buses. Unless I have the luxury of time if not... i'll pick the trains anytime. How abt u?
