Another man/woman-throws-himself/herself-off-the-MRT-tracks casualty...
I shudder whenever I read such news. Why? Coz I take the train on a daily basis be it to work or leisure. Immediately images of an individual throwing himself off the platform on a crowded day, the brakes of the train screeching in a bid to halt in time but to no avail. Internal passengers get thrown off their seats due to the sudden impact.
And not to mention the after-crash bloody mess to clear up. Yuck *shiver* Why?
I believe it is equally tramatic for both the suicider's family and those who witnessed his suicide act. How in the world can those peeps ever forget the terrifying image of a man getting run over and the blood splashing in all direction? Arrgh... *shiver*
In recent years, the MRT tracks seem to have become a convenient place to end one's life besides high-rise flats, the sea etc. It seems like a horrible way to die and obstructing public transport.
According to news, the latest suicide act took place at the Chinese Garden MRT Station at 10 odd in the nite. Trains were delayed for over an hour due to the accident.
Not that I'm being mean or anything but why choose the MRT tracks instead of plunging onself off a high-rise building? Will that involve lesser pain, obstruction? I'm sure there will be some irritated passengers along the Chinese Garden station who are in a rush to get home for their slp and to discover to their fatigue laden bods horror that someone had jumped off the tracks and obstructed their transit home. I bet they cursed.
All I can say now is that when someone commits sucide, it is always the people round him (esp loved ones) who have to pick up the broken pieces and dealt with mess. Irresponsible....
