Fortune telling - believe it or not?

It's been ages since I had gone to see a fortune teller. The last time I had my palm read when was when I was in Sec 2 and it was an impromptu reading done by my maths teacher who knew a considerable knowledge of palm reading. Every student in my class was clamouring to have our palms read by my teacher. Quite funni, everyone was like so excited and eager to know or catch a glimpse of our future.

But as I got older, I dread or sorta lost the interest to have my fortune told. It just does not make any sense to me anymore. With the chinese saying of 'tian ji bu ke xie lou' literally translated as 'heaven's secrets not to be revealed' I am scratching my head as to the accuracy of predictions. Aren't such stuff supposed to be heavily guarded? Is any prediction 100% accurate and does anybody out there totally believe in it and await for such predictions to come true without putting in any effort?

Had an msn chat with a colleague who shared the teachings of buddhism and self cultivation. She says that out fate is always changing just like the lines on our palms so it is useless to go palm reading (agree). Giving and not receiving is a very fundamental concept that many a times we pushed to the back of our minds at the 7 sins of humans surface.

Anyway, we reap what we sow in our past lives, present lives and future lives so live every moment clear and upright is what I believe in and my motto in life. We should not rest on our laurels and hope that heaven will be kind and reward us. Nothing is for free without putting in a conscious effort.

p/s to a close friend: Stay firm and level with your heart and soul. We girls are behind you. You can overcome the trying matters of the heart. :)
