Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!!!!!!!!!

The annual eat--mooncake-till-you-burst festival is here again! Too bad it's not a public holiday haha... Why isn't it a public holiday???????? If not I will still be sleeping at home instead of typing infront of the comp now in the office :p

Weeks before today, you can soooooooo many types of mooncakes already on sale on the streets. Ranging from the traditonal lotus seed paste with or without yolk mooncakes, the pastel coloured snowskin mooncakes, the mini piggy mooncake biscuits and the flaky yam ones... Mmmmmmmm

I love the traditional ones with yolk (the more yolk the better) and the snowskin durian ones (oh, and also the ice cream ones from swensens if you count them as mooncakes coz they are like 99.9% ice cream since only the outer apperance resembles a mooncake). Yum but sadly I can't eat many at a go, very nauseating if I ate too many (which is a good thing since ST reported that a mooncake contains like 900 over calories!).

Got a box of trad mooncakes with yolk courtsey of one of my tuition kiddies' parent. Thanks! So nice of the mother :) Haven opened it to eat yet but will probably take the first cut tonight after my meet up with huiting and soo ying. Will be great if I can have a nice hot cup of green tea too.. Life's simple pleasures haha

Wonder if the moon will be big, round and clear tonight with the haze lingering on...

Anyway, this festival always brings back fond memos of the time when I was much much much younger carrying my little battery operated lanterns (not paper ones since my parents were afraid they will catch fire and go up in smoke since I was quite the careless kiddo) with my bro walking the parks and the neighbourhood.

It was always fun to go lantern shopping and carrying those pretty lanterns walking the parks after dark. A rare treat since usually after 7pm I will home watching TV with mum.

Just the other day, fireworks were lighted off into the sky a few blks away from mine to celebrate the festival. Gosh, I had never seen fireworks in my neighbourhood at all ( in fact I tot it was illegal to light em off in such close range).

Enjoy this annual festival while it lasted and go easy on the mooncakes :p
