BiG fAT rAt

Do not read further if you intending to have a yummi meal later or just got back from lunch...

You have been warned
Was talking to my colleague as we make our way for lunch at a nearby eatery. Little did we know the little 'surprise' that was quietly awaiting us a few steps ahead. I was about to step off the elevated platform onto the road when I spied a dark little thing on the floor. Took a look and realised it was a furry, dirty and fat rat. AND IT WAS DEAD! Yuck, I think there were flies around it.
Screamed and thought the rat will wake up and run off haha...An illogical mind when confronted with terror :p
Two innocent peeps were taken aback by our screams (probably thinking we got possessed or somthing). Haha...So malu yet so funni! The scene of THE DEAD RAT thankfully was not stomach churning if not the both of us will staying in for lunch and breathing aircon instead...
The incident reminds of other more yucky and gross scenes of dead rats being rolled over on the roads by vechicles. HENCE THE WARNING...
Due to the construction in the central of my little tomato land for a mega mall that is to be up hopefully next yr (the construction has been delayed like forever but I'm just straying from the topic), the very unhygenic conditions have lead to an immense population of BIG FAT RATS.
Almost everyday, I can see a furry critter scurrying away into the bushes, dragging its long tail at some dark corners of the wet market and looking at me with the evil eye at the hawker centre. Their appearance is always brief like a few seconds but their impact is nonetheless powerful.
I never fail to scream/let out a small squeak/ stop in my tracks when I see them. Sorrie, it's just a natural reaction of mine. I LOATHE THEM I TELL YOU.
BUT when I see the BIG FAT RATS get run over by vechicles or killed by very brave cats of almost their own size I can't help feel sad for them and wish their souls will RIP. They looks so pitful especially the ones I had seen struggling for their lives on the verge of death.
I have a soft spot for animals even though BIG FAT RATS aren't excactly the type of animal I will fall for but when you see them dying and geting kicked at, I can't just help feeling sorry for them.
The BIG FAT RATS in general die horrible and painful deaths you see. I have seen many being mangled till their corpse no longer resemble a BIG FAT RAT. Some have their bloody innards spilled over the roads after an extremely painful run-over by vechicles.
It's sad and I can only say a little prayer for them. They are afterall mother nature's creations.
