I miss my manga reading daes! :(
With the passing of my secondary school and JC years and my fellow agar agar obsessed pal who has flown back to HK, I have no one to turn to for the latest manga read. Yes, my pal was my permanent manga loaner who has introduced me to the delightful world of manga :p
Through her I got accquainted and fell in lurve with the japanese art and appreciated how painstakingly every character was created and illustrated into a volume. I especially love the following:
1) 'Ling qi wang' (or is it 'Qi ling wang') - literally translated as spirited chess king. I tink I missed reading the last volume of the series when she flew back to HK *sob*
2) Clamp
3) 'xue gui li de feng bo' literally translated as 'adventures in the fridge. This is a 4 series comic book that revolves around the foodstuff eg: eggs, pudding, fruits etc and their (mis)adventures in the fridge. Darn funni comic.
4) Slam dunk!!!! My old time fave! Sendoh and liu chuan feng are so darn cool! I can still rem many of the scenes in the comic series even though I onli read it once.
5) 'Pin qiong gui gong zi' - literally translated as the poor prince
*pardon my laziness in searching for the correct translation of each comic series... Too lazy haha
Anyway through this wonderful fren of mine, I have saved tons of $$ and indulge in this manga reading habit of mine. It didn't hurt that she is very efficient in getting the latest book hence I was very updated haha... We haunt kino on a regular basis haha
The traditionalist in me still prefers to hold the tangible manga in my hands than to read it online. My eyes feel darn taxed and my back hurts after arching over for a long period. It's just not comfy.
I wanna get the whole collection of slam dunk comics (it's still the best bball comics!!!) !
Update: caught 'Death note' on sat... another manga made into movie.. Pretty sleep inducing and draggy at first but hell I am anticpating the sequel... Looks more exciting with the showdown between 'kira' and 'L'. :P
