Hands up those of you whom at one time or another indulged in diet fads! I bet many of you out there have tried to diet before. In a cosmoplitan society of today, we are constantly surrounded by picture-perfect and slim-beyond-belief women in the various forms of media medium.
Which girl doesn't desire a trim waist that doesn't bulge when she sits? Which girl wants 'bye-bye' arms where a layer of fat wobbles under your arms when you wave goodbye to friends or your crush? *horrors* Which girls doesn't dream of slim thighs, endless legs and fit into a pair of levi's sized 24 with finesse? Which girl doesn't hanker for a pert and small butt? Lastly, which girl doesn't long for the peek-a-boo sexy collar bone?
I do and I bet many girls out there dream, long, hanker, desire and want all the above physical attributes stated above. We see such heavenly goddesses plastered everywhere in the papers, magazines, posters and television. Who could blame us girls for dieting senselessly all in the name of achieving the PERFECT bod?!
Yours truly, has tried many dieting methods in a bid to lose those extra kilos. I have tried a banana diet whereby I ONLY eat bananas for the entire day and down glasses of plain water. This lasted only for 2 days before I resorted back to my regular intake of meat and carbo at meal times. I chided myself for my lack of willpower and the pounds lost was non-existant. In between, I also tired eating ONLY watermelons or just sleep the day away to fight off the urge to eat but even if pounds were lost, I gained them back quickly in a week or two. No long term weight lost for me.
The various diet products have tempted me to try 'em but due to the high prices I was unable to afford. But I have gotten reviews that they weren't that effective after all. In the end, I believe that it is only through regular meals and exercise will I lose the weight permanently and TONE up the bod. Over the past 6 years, I have lost around 10 kilos not by dieting but by eating only when I am hungry or through the compensation diet. What's that I hear you ask. Compensation dieting for me is when I overindulge in food the day before, I will compensate by eating lighter meals the next day. In this way, I do not overstuff myself like a turkey.
Try to walk as much as possible too. For instance, I used to take a bus ride to and from the mrt station (around 5-10 mins from my home) but recently I have started to walk there instead. Not only do I save money (works out to about $12 - $24 saved a mth) but I also burn some calories at the same time!
I read this mantra before and boy, it is sooooo true: A moment on the lips, Forever on the hips. Good food are hard to resist but the pounds are EVEN HARDER to lose! As long as we eat sensibly, I believe we can all lose the thunder thighs we hate!
