I mIsS sChOoL!

I think I am suffering extremely back-dated withdrawal symptons. I miss school life! *Boo hoo*

I miss my classmates, the classroom, the canteen, the school song, CCA and yes, even the homeworks and projects. OMG! I think I am going crazzzzyyyyyyy~~~~~~~~~

If you were to ask me which phrase in my academic years do I miss the most, I will, without any hesitation, declare it was my secondary school years. Why? It was during this period I got to know a great bunch of frens and it was really an enjoyable period of my schooling years (minus the stress at sec 4 due to the O levels but it was small case compared to A Levels). My friends and I love hanging out at the nearby Junction 8 shopping centre after school or just chilling out in school at the canteen (tucking into steamy hot steamed egg from the ever-popular malay stall).

I have many many fond memories of my sec sch years. Let mi share some funni ones with you. I was posted to my sec sch so I had totally no idea of the sch's existence or where it was located. Hence, days before the 1st day of sch, mi & my mum ventured out to look for it. Thank god it was near my home (ard a 15 mins bus ride). Happily don my sch uniform, I got ready for school. On the bus, I heard two gals (seniors) whispering behind my back:

"Hey, do we need to put on ties today?"

"I don't think so, it's Tuesday not Monday (put-on-tie-day)."

I wanted to faint.

Shit,I attracted unnecssary attention for wearing the sch tie on the wrong day! *slaps forehead*

When I reached sch, I realise to my utmost horror that I had put on my sch badge on the wrong part of my school uniform. I still laugh when I think about it. 'Cause my sch uniform has a thick blue line above the pocket, I had happily assume that was the place to pin on the badge and did so. Turns out the badge was supposed to be pinned on the right side of the collar. I wanted to crawl into a hole, curl up and die.

Fortunately, I carried a file with me so I was able to hug it close and hide the offending mistake I committed. Then, I made friends with a fellow classmate by asking a VERY VERY dumb question. "Hi! Do you know what's the time now?"

Sounds friendly enough and got the ice broken but later on my fren revealed to me that she had to contain her laughter and puzzle-ment 'cause I was wearing a watch when I asked her that question! HAHA (What was I thinking??)

When I went on to JC, a few of my sec sch frens & I got into the same school again. The 3 of us will 'ta bao' food to the our school's gallery (aka stadium) and munch our recess time away. We could also conveniently take a bus down to town since our school wasn't pretty far off from there. And of course, the school hols were a big bonus too! Getting up late in the morning or realising that there's no school on a holiday weekday in the dead of nite adds much delight to my face haha....

And did I ever tell you I oh so adore school uniforms (I can see you with an extremely shocked expression)? How could anyone love school uniforms? Well, I do! I love wearing school uniforms to sch (duh!) and to town aft school. I do not get judged on how well or lousy I dress, takes mi less than 10 mins to dress (no pulling hair drama over what to wear) and it just feels comfy. Although some shop personnels will pass haughty looks (please, that is sooooo discriminating) or shadow closely behind us when we browse through the clothes. That is so irritating but still it doesn't damper my school-uniform-loving genes. :p

I just realised I miss the NAPFA TESTS TOO! The 2.4km run (be prepared for a re-test if it was held on a sunny day with strong winds slapping your face), sit & reach (I can easily score a 5 without putting in much effort :p), standing broad jump (always managed 1 pt only due to my short and un-springy legs), flex arm hang (wobbling/shivering arms with many other students' heads looking over *embarrassed*), sit-ups (easy) and shuttle run (ok ok la). I have to admit they kept me fit and I don't get out of breath as easy as I do now. Cham man!

Can you imagine the 15 years of schooling life (pri, sec, jc & uni) juz whizzed by in a flash? I could still remember the time I had my hair in braids taking the school bus to school and now I have entered the working force (with no holidays :( )

If only I could turn back time.................................

(Don't we all tink sch sucks til we leave it) -->
