The NaLaNdA tRAIL

Let's go on a trail...

The Nalanda Trail.

A rare opportunity to cast my sights and to go on a rewarding trail on precious buddhist
sculptures at ACM on saturday.

I learnt alot during the 2 hour tours from the history of buddhism, influences from different countries. gestures seen on different sculptures and a lot more. Priced at a little over 5 bucks (coz the lot of us took up the family package; u.p. is $10), the bf and I joined my colleague, her hubby and a few more others on the tour lead by a volunteer youth from the youth ministry from Bright Hill Temple.

Many sculptures and silk paintings have been generously loaned to the museuem for this exhibition and even the relic of buddha!

With so many rare exhibits, it's no surprise security was tight as hell. Every visitor has to go through a metal detector and even bags have to be kept in lockers with mobiles and wallets not allowed. But it's worth it coz the exhibition and what I learnt was beyond what words could describe.
